Title: (Wes Anderson) Wes & Children
Post by: meatball on November 08, 2003, 04:59:53 PM
Children play a huge role in his films. Any thoughts on why this is?

Because in every Wes film there's a sense that the world is very children-y. Kids and adults interact like equals. Luke Wilson's sister in Bottle Rocket; Max, Dirk and most of the kids in Rushmore and, of course, the young Tenenbaums. Whenever I see a film by Wes Anderson, I feel a sense of wonder in them, like the dream of a child.

i've noticed that the kids in his movies are usually playwriters... perhaps they all shoud assist to "WHAT DO KIDS KNOW?"

All of Wes Anderson's humor stems from either children acting like adults or adults acting like children.

Note that this answer was three years in the making.
