It was locked because it was redundant. Look back at the thread and you'll see many links where people have already displayed their opinions of Irreversible. Hence there was no need for it.
Just as this one will be locked soon.
If there's something that's been covered in depth in the past (like Irreversible, which already has three threads dedicated to it, not to mention the disturbing films thread), we'll lock any new ones after redirecting the poster to the old ones.
Feel free to use the search function liberally and resurrect old threads. We've covered a lot of ground here, so chances are you'll find something.
Some threads are locked because they have served their purpose and are no longer needed. Like this one will be shortly.
