Season 1 is coming to DVD on November 4.
And you will buy it because it will have lots of extras that only leaves space for commentary on 4 episodes
perfect luck for me just when i purchase the entire show on crappy ebay vcds.
now where in the god damn is a seinfeld dvd set?
Seinfeld = not until 2011 I heard somewhere ... might be bullshit though
They don't plan Olympics that far ahead. So I'm definitely thinking bullshit.
(although there might be a clause in the syndication contracts that states they can't come out with seaon DVD's until that date)
Quote from: Pas RapportSeinfeld = not until 2011 I heard somewhere ... might be bullshit though
That would be absolutely torturous. I hope that is false. I know how we can get a Seinfeld dvd release within days! I'll just purchase a shitty vcd version off ebay and then you guys'll be set.
I cant believe UCB is getting a DVD release while something like Kids in The Hall isnt :(
Ha! Then do I have news for you. KITH is coming to DVD. It's on www.tvshowsondvd.com.
UCB is probably the best show ever. :(
Has anybody here ever been to the UCB Theatre in New York? I've seen the ASSCATT show and Stella perform there. I almost pissed my pants laughing so hard during the Stella show.
And if you guys have not seen the short films Stella had at all their shows, go to //www.stellacomedy.com and download them. They are hilarious
I went to the UCB in New York Saturday night and saw Mother, but I haven't been to any shows with the actual UCB members yet. I hope I can soon. It's great because it's pretty cheap. ($5 during the week and $7 on weekends).

High five
Well my comment wasnt mean to rag on UCB, i just meant that it was so short lived compared to KITH...
Best friends forever!
and let me make something clear from that last post
I was high fiving Meatwad for Stella
I've never been to UCBtheater or New York
I saw a few players from the Upright Citizens Brigade in the spring in a small play called Secret Slut (I think). It was about the very promiscuous daughter and her relationship with a secret service agent. Hilarious stuff. Lewis Black was touring with them I believe, giving some sort of comedy talks, and in the hallway after the show he basically whizzed past me before I could realize who it was and say anything. That was a cool night.
Note to self: Get both of those.
I also hope that 2011 rumor on Seinfled is bullshit, even though there are a fabillion episodes.
I think Strangers with Candy season2 also comes out the same day
it seems like some around here are fans of amy sedaris, but is anybody fans of david sedaris. His books and dave eggers books are some of my favorite pieces of writing
Never read his books, but I've seen him do an excerpt on Letterman once. It was good. I also like David Rakoff's Fraud
I love David Sedaris.
I still haven't read "Naked", which I hear is his best, but I've read a few of his and it's all great stuff.
i just got tickets to see him at the westberry music fair!
i just read that The Upright Citizens Brigade recorded a commentary live during one of their shows for the DVD.
It's out, mine hasn't come in yet :x
finally got my copy of the UCB Season 1 DVD and it's excellent. The stage version of Little Donnie is hilarious, as are the commentaries taped in front of an audience at the theatre. I like the little pop in by Horatio Sanz in the commentary. The one thing i wish there was more of is stuff in and about the theatre. But i can't complain because this purchase was well worth the money.

Yeah, the commentaries are all fucking great
"Upright Citizens Brigade thinks they're so great"
I didn't like the stage version of Little Donnie since I didn't like that episode to begin with (the commentary was great though). I need Season 2 now
I received the Upright Citizens Brigade DVD today.. I've watched the first two episodes and I'm amazed that Comedy Central was able to fit this much brilliance onto 2 discs. Big thanks to Slomb for pushing this DVD set so heavily in the past. He was 110% correct that the UCB is hilarious.
I've only seen a few episodes of UCB but it is absolutely hysterical.
Bravo signs up Citizens Brigade for series
Bravo has unveiled a bevy of new programs, including a sketch-comedy show from the Upright Citizens Brigade. "A.S.S.S.S.C.A.T.: Improv" is a one-hour special based on the exploits of the improvisational comedy group that will run sometime in the fall. It features Rachel Dratch, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and Andy Richter, among others. Constant Communications is the producer; Lisa Leingang and John Fortenberry are executive producers; Poehler, Matt Besser, Ian Roberts and Matt Walsh are executive producers for the Upright Citizens Brigade.
THERE IS A GOD
SOMEone doesn't read www.conologue.com
hey, i saw my first improv show at the UCB theatre tonite. it was AWESOME. i've been there like 5 times in the last month since i moved to NYC but this was the first time i went for improv, which is funny cause thats kinda mostly what they do there. ANYWAY, it was great cause i got to see the actual Upright Citizens Brigade perform and they said they thought it was the first time in years it had been just the four of them. it was sold out but we waited in line and got to sit on the stage. it was great. amy poehler is awesome and hilarious and very short. i've only seen a handful of episodes from the show, (and not since it aired) but my roomate has the season one DVD which i plan to dive into soon, maybe when i finish with Mr. Show.

BREAKING NEWS from matt besser's myspace
"Season 2 of UCB will be released in Fall of 2007. For the DVD, we are looking for bands who are fans to submit songs based on scenes or using samples from scenes. Our first movie is still being filmed, so 'Wild Girls Gone' could be available by the beginning of the summer."

Upright Citizens Brigade - The Studio Giveth, The Studio Taketh Away
The Citizens are Back Off the Schedule for Now
Posted by David Lambert
5/21/2007
Last week we posted our story telling fans of Upright Citizens Brigade that the show's second season would finally see a DVD release on August 14th, along with a re-promote of the first season discs.
However, that listing on the schedule at Paramount Home Entertainment's password-protected press site soon disappeared a couple of days later, and has not reappeared since. We were unable to get any information from the studio about this change, but our friends in the retail industry speculate that Paramount is moving around street dates again, as they did a few months ago. There is a good amount of confidence that UCB DVDs will appear on the schedule again, just a bit later in the year. Stay tuned, and we'll see about that.
wow, did you know it's impossible to find a picture of Stella McCartney wearing her "Fuck You Paramount!" t-shirt while flipping off the camera...
anyway, yeah...
Fuck You Paramount!

i'm still hoping they include Del Close clips from his living wake on season 3..
Watch This: Famous Sketches Retold
by Erik Davis; Cinematical
Our friends over at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre sent in this video of their top performers re-enacting famous sketches as if [insert famous filmmaker] directed them. Which sketches with which directors, you ask? Well, we have Abbott and Costello's "Who's on First?" as directed by Wes Anderson, Monty Python's "The Ministry of Silly Walks" as directed by Michael Moore, and The Kids in the Hall's "I'm Crushing Your Head"? as directed by Quentin Tarantino. This is a fantastic idea; I almost wish some of them went on a tad longer than they did by introducing other elements.
