Search engines are funny things. I was looking at the Olmi thread, wondering what was so great about the guy, and I wanted to find out what Ebert had to say. I entered "Ermanno Olmi Roger Ebert" in the address bar and pressed "Enter." This is one of the things that turned up: http://www.rockcritics.com/Dellio-Lapointe.html
It's a quite interesting e-mail discussion on many different films, between two guys I've never heard of before, but really seem to know their stuff. Thought it'd be interesting for others to read and discuss is all, and see if anyone knew anything else about who these guys are.
Ebert has no reviews of Olmi as far as I know...
but please please please see the two Criterions. You will be doing yourself a cinematic favor. Beauty has been captured to perfection on film. Long live Criterion.
