What about him? What's his best or worst work? His cameo in Big Daddy is one the funniest ever.

Fargo - I just fucking pulled in here...
my favourite
Anything Buscemi does is likeable. I'd love for PTA to work with him one day.
Except for that Sopranos episode he directed. 54 minutes of running around in the snow covered Jersey woods. I'll pass on that one.
in my opinion, best role he's ever done.

he cracks me up like no other. somebody once told me that my humor reminded them of buscemi. what a compliment. he even made mr. deeds appealing. not to mention his part in big lebowski. i love this guy.
His best work was when he played me:

i'm sorry macguffin.
My favourite Buscemi role was in 'Fargo'. Such a prick.
Its always great seeing him in Sandler's flicks. 5 in total. They even played brothers in 'Airheads'.

i'm a person too, pop! i'm a person, too!
i'll have to agree with taz. the final scene where he rhymes "true" with "robbie and juuuuu-u-lia-ha ha" is one of the funniest moments in anything.
anyone seen Living in Oblivion? Also a great Buscemi performance!

"here's the deal, i win: i get to take you home, you win: you go home with me."
^ Lol, I love it, what's that from eward?
I think Buscemi is probably best in Big Daddy, Billy Madison, and Fargo...I don't even particulary like Fargo but he's great in it...Lebowski too of course. I'm going to blind buy The Wedding Singer.
I liked him in The Wedding Singer, Trees Lounge (with Sevigny) and Fargo. He also made me laugh in The Big Lebowski.
Buscemi fucking rules.
Seriously, this guy has been my favorite actor since I was in 8th grade, before I had not an inkling of an informed or educated opinion. But he's managed to stay up there the entire time. Love him to death...
aw
same here, jp. after i saw fargo and reservoir dogs and all those adam sandler movies, i was set in my ways. i love finding buscemi in a movie when i'm not expecting him (pulp fiction, more adam sandler movies, i don't know what else).
Queer: Steve Buscemi will direct a biopic of William S Burroughs based on his novels Queer and Junky.
Sweet!
cant wait to see that, though buscemi isnt the best guy for the job
Quote from: Cecil B. Dementedcant wait to see that, though buscemi isnt the best guy for the job
Ever seen Tree's Lounge?
no.
ill shut up now
"Why do I have to be Mr. Pink?"....the best
He was also great in Trees Lounge, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Desperado, Mystery Train, Ghost World, Living in Oblivion...so many roles!!!!
Fargo, Living in Oblivion, Ghost World, The Big Lebowski ... sure, those are all quality films.
But, clearly, he was the thespian who held the amazing spectacle that was Con-Air together.
Two quotes:
"He's a fountain of misplaced rage. Name your cliche; Mother held him too much or not enough, last picked at kickball, late night sneaky uncle, whatever. Now he's so angry that moments of levity actually cause him pain; give him headaches. Happiness, for that gentleman, hurts."
AND
"Define irony: a bunch of idiots dancing around on a plane to a song made famous by a band that died in a plane crash."
Do we like this guy for his craft or for... him?
Quote from: meatballDo we like this guy for his craft or for... him?
Both. He's one of the most unique actors ever to grace the screen, but still, his roles are all unique as well.
Steve Buscemi Directing Lonesome Jim
Source: Variety
Actor/director Steve Buscemi will undertake his third feature stint behind the camera with Lonesome Jim, a dysfunctional family comedy-drama starring Liv Tyler and Casey Affleck.
The first screenplay penned by New York fiction writer James C. Strouse follows the return of 28-year-old Jim (Affleck) to his hometown in Indiana, where he is forced, after failing to make it on his own, to move back in with his parents and deal with crippling family obligations. Tyler plays a woman Jim meets in a local bar, whose young son begins treating him like a father.
Producers are in talks with several studios for financing and distribution. Shooting is scheduled for February.
Buscemi still plans to film Queer as well, which is based on the novel about the period spent by author William S. Burroughs in Mexico City in the late 1940s and early '50s. That shoot is now planned for Fall, 2004.
Hmmm. That sounds strikingly similar to Jersey Girl, doesn't it? Right down to the casting. Personally, I can't wait to see Queer. I was really into Burroughs in high school.
and I was really into Queers in high school....
wait, hold on.. I didn't mean that
Let us not forget this wonderful performance:

Oh I know. The way Buscemi conducted his body language in that film was great..
Gloria, I love your avatar!
Then again, I'm a sucker for kittens and monkeys.
Animals rock.

I really don't know why, but I laughed a lot when I read this.... :? well... oh well... la-di-dá la-la...
man I have always liked The Sopranos... but now that this guy is here I even like it more... he is the perfect man for this show!!
Wow, Steve Buscemi. I used to be such a big fan of his, haven't seen him in anything for ages.
Quote from: GaramComplete scene stealer. Glad to hear he's working with the Coen's again.
he is? cause thats probably bad news for his career if the recent coens are any indication.
He rules in the wedding singer.
"Fshhh, greatest guitar player in the world!"
Has he ever had a makeout scene? That'd be somethin.
He's pretty classic in Billy Madison. And possibly Final Fantasy... :saywhat:
no they're bad compared to anything. ANYthing.

The story centers on a drug dealer (Buscemi) who realizes on his birthday that he wants out of the business. He decides to do one more job, which forces him to travel to Mexico and create a make-believe family, the Millers, in order to bring 1,400 pounds of marijuana into the U.S. Will Arnett was originally slated to star in the pic but vacated the slot because of scheduling reasons. The script was written by Steve Faber and Bob Fisher, who penned "Wedding Crashers" for the studio, and is being produced by Vincent Newman and Tucker Tooley.

It was "Submission" that got Van Gogh killed, not "Interview". So if somebody shoots Buscemi over this movie it's his own damn fault.

I work at column. I edited the making of. Was in NYC (reminisce) when they were shooting Interview there. Van Gogh even called my first short 'amazing'. Not true. He was a good guy. Nice to see the exposure/publicity for INTERVIEW. They are gonna make two more movies like that. Here in Europe that is but with some big names.
BLIND DATE will be the next one helmed by Stanley Tucci, starring himself and Patricia Clarkson. I hope to be on set. It'll be very much like the one Buscemi did. But now it's Stanley Tucci's turn. I can't wait. Last word on the third film
1-900: John Torturro possibly directing! That would be amazing, anybody seen Romance and Cigarettes? That was crazy.
