Title: Boom mic for Canon XL1
Post by: ben on June 21, 2003, 02:29:42 PM
i need to know what kind of mic to get for a Canon XL1 to connect to a boom. i am VERY new to sound and stuff (i used to just use the built in mic, and this is going to be my first time using hte Canon XL1), and i do now know what to do.

Sorry if this is a very broad question, but please help me out.

i guess what i need to know is what kind of mic will connect to the input on the XL1.

thanks in advance

PS any good film supply rental places in the LA area?

Here's the thread on sound/microphones/ etc.

As for connecting a boom to your XL-1, you'll need a handy XLR adaptor (and XLR cables, too). Canon makes one specifically for the camera, as do a few other manufacturers such as Beacktek.
