Run and get (or download) this music now!
Jon Brion - Meaningless
This guy is awsome. Lyrics are top notch and the songs are unpredictable and pure.
Jack Johnson - On and On
Kinda Dave Matthewsy bouncy beats with acoustic guitars.....
The Streets - Original Pirate Material
kick ass... Techno with freestyle lyrics and an accent to boot.
Jim O'Rourke - ???? 2 of them
I discovered him late.... alot of the Love Liza soundtrack came from him.... Ghost Ship in a storm. Women of the world.
Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
Great albulm .. im just getting into wilco...... great documentary out about these guys... I am trying to break your heart.
Thats that and thats it
DJ Russell
I know Jim O'Rourke mostly from Sonic Youth. Cool that he's done the Love Liza thing.
I don't normally like much hip-hoppy stuff, but I do like The Streets. Must be the accent. Very Mike Leigh character.
I've never cared for Dave Matthews or anything resembling him.
I think Jon Brion's scores are more unique than his other stuff, but he's never bad. [/i]

You need a copy of Insignificance, then. I'll get right on that.
BTW, O'Rourke mixed Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and played as part of the Loose Fur trio (O'Rourke, Jeff Tweedy, Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche). Their debut album is like a more experimental YHF, with some Steely Dan-ish O'Rourke songs tossed in for good measure. Excellent stuff.
if any of you are in LA -- John Brion is playing Largo friday night -- im definately going to try and check it out -- i hear he's amazing live -- im excited. i think its 10 bucks at the door.
I totally follow you on the Jack Johnson-thing! I'm really in love with that cd too.
