it just sits there, nestled between The Godfather Collection and 8 1/2 and I can't, for the life of me, understand what possessed me to buy it.
Pearl Harbor
you should be ashamed
Practical Magic.
It's not mine. It's my fiance's. But still, that damn movie looks so out of place in the collection.
That's nothing. On my shelf, between Speaking Parts and Stardust Memories, you will find:
-Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
-Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
-Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Cones
...now, these TECHNICALLY belong to my partner; I gave them to him as Xmas presents. But since we co-own and co-shelve the DVD collection, I suppose I have to 'fess up and take half the shame.
These titles make me shudder, especially the Star Wars ones.
My friend bought me Another Day In Paradise. But I fucking hate it so much, it wasn't allowed to sit on the shelf with the rest of the dvds, so I stuck it in a drawer until I sold it.
So right now I'd say the only bad movie I have is What About Bob, which I own just for the part where Dreyfus freaks out and yells getaaahellouttaaacarr!!!!
if you are ashamed to own it why did you buy it ???
$8. Only saw as a kid and remembered it being funny. Wasn't.

It's my favorite Larry Clark, but that's not really saying much. I thought
Kids was barely okay, and I really hated
Bully.
Tulsa is superior to any of his films. His images are much more effective when the people aren't moving and talking, I guess.

i was not talking to you, i was just speaking on the concept in general
ive rented tons of films that turn out to be shit, and i am embaressed to have anyone know i spent 4 bucks on it.
but i have yet to buy something then cringe , and i own so many dvds that my room is packed with cases
Alien 3 ( It Came With The Legacy Set!)
Forest Gump(I Did Not Buy It!)
that ONE version of Planet of the Apes
almost famous, my dad gave it to me on christmas. i actually think its a good film, but i dunno..... it doesnt seem to "belong." i think im just being prissy
"Body of Evidence," starring Madonna. It's pure wank material. I was red faced just bringing it up to the check out counter at Best Buy.

However, first feature role for one Ms. Julianne Moore... Or wait. Was that
Hand That Rocks the Cradle? Anyways, I think you get to see her haul off and slap Madonna across the face. Worth the price of admission to me.
there's a beautiful thing called the record exchange where you can buy, sell or trade cds, video games and dvds. i use that place often.
A friend bought Red Planet sight unseen. Can I be ashamed for him?

According to the imdb, her first feature role was in Slaughterhouse 2.
I'm not really embarassed about any of my DVDs...but there are some where I feel odd having them, when I'm missing so many classics. But before I had as many bills, when I would want to see a movie, I'd just buy it instead of renting it. So I've ended up with a lot of stuff like, say, Conspiracy Theory (that one makes the least since), that I'll probably never watch again. For some reason, I don't want to get rid of them, though.
my dad bought me arlington road wich i was looking forward to watch but it turned out a really fucking bad written piece of shit. jeff bridges were also bad. shame. he also bought me autumn in new york but that one actually suprised me in a good way. wouldnt want to watch it again though. ever.
That would be 15 Minutes starring Robert De Niro....What a piece of SHIT!
UHF :(
First off, what about bob is awesome.
secondly, i bought plump fiction, a parody of the hip directors in the mid to late 90's starring julie brown. ugh... i don't know why i haven't tried to sell this on ebay yet.
also, i bought a 3D movie, because i thought it would be fun. i'm not ashamed to own it, but it's hidden away.
i also own mystery men. but there were parts i remember being funny. i haven't seen it since i bought it though.
Star Wars Ep I, id like to get rid of it and Ghost World, which I didnt really like, but bought it before I saw it.

do u wanna keep ghost world?
on the topic of crap dvds, i wouldn't buy sumthin i wasn't gonna watch a lot..
Fight Club is the least good DVD I own. I like it though, so I guess I have no bad DVDs. I ussually think twice before purchasing.

Hey Cecil B.,
If Almost Famous is the DVD you're ashamed to own, I don't wanna know which DVDs you're proud to own.
I'm not judging your tastes, 'cause this woulb be stupid, but I realy don't wanna know.

P is the only one who has contacted me so far

Almost Famous is a really good flick you should definatly not be ashamed to own it.
Varsity Blues. Im sorry
Spider-Man...what can I say, I live in the past...

amazing. i almost thought for a second it was possible to be forgotten. your realization of ducksauce being cool has nothing to do with my abscence. my influence on ducksauce has been uninterrupted up until this very moment. so maybe, in a way, i had everything to do with you finding ducksauce cool.
Shit....I think I have you all beat....I bought a used copy of...You've Got Mail.....for $9....a girl made me buy it, what can I say? I am one weak man....
Jason X
what can I say though...I love it. I love some of the deaths, I love the campiness and I love the Jump to a Death feature.
Plus there is a Many Lives of Jason Voorhees feature with Mark and Mike from American Movie.

What great characters to represent our WI film programs huh?....shit, at least they crack me up....yeah Wisco!
deep blue sea
the performances are suitably cheesy (with thomas jane and saffron burrows doing their indie best at being action heroes), the shark attacks are well orchestrated by harlin...and the various twists of who-dies -next-adds an originality to the overall movie... anyway, i love it. i'm secure with it being there on my shelf. but the fact that other people tease me for owning may have given me my dvd insecurity problems. what would freud say?
favorite what about bob quote:
HE CAN BORROW MY SLICKER! *blink blink*
Eh, I own the Dune TV mini-series by the Sci-Fi channel - not the special edition.
I've never seen the entire thing. I bought it after reading the book, having never watched it when it was on TV, and I've never finished it.
Weekend at Bernie's....No, I refuse to be ashame anymore! I love this movie! :x
Quote from: mogwaiTime to confess:
Kindergarten Cop
do not be ashamed to own this. best fucking movie ever. point break is pretty cool but i'm ashamed to admit i've never seen ANY police academy film. i know, for somebody that claims to like bad movies this is just plain... wrong.
I know this is going to drop your opinion of me, right off the bat, but....
I own not one, but TWO, volumes of the best episodes of "Get A Life" on DVD.
Please forgive me.
that show is awesome. chris elliott as the paperboy. it was my dads favorite show when it was on. charlie kauffman was a writer on it, and it had the REM song "Stand" as the theme. you are now elevated to AWESOME in my book. :)
I had no idea Kauffman was a writer on that show! The show was so freaking bizarre and hilarious. My college roomate and I missed classes left and right and only rarely turned in term papers, but we ALWAYS made sure we were right on time for watching "Get A Life" in the dorm room.
I love the episode were he gets married, cheated on and divorced all in the same day.
Not really embarassed, but Billy Madison is the total oddball in my DVD collection (I got it from a friend)
Bring It On
My sister owns Pearl Harbor but I feel partly responsible because I let her choose it as a selection from that Columbia House club.

Quote from: ewardam i the only one who actually liked that movie?
I liked it. The scenes with the choreographer were the best.
"Why do we have to go on diets?"
"In cheerleading, we through people in the air, and fat people don't go as high."
Yes, yes, the choreographer saved the movie so it could be watchable for me.
My favs:
"Cheerleaders are dancers.. gone retarded."
"Follow me or perish, sweater monkeys."
tever fyags, it was good.

I liked it too! It's one of the few teen flicks that I actually like.
Plus Eliza Dushku is in it...
The carwash scene was nice ... there was that guy who had no shirt.
Anyone ashamed of What About Bob should be ashamed of being ashamed. Same goes for UHF.
The only DVD set I ever just had to dump was The Transformers: Season 1. Hadn't seen any of those episodes in over 10 years, and I remember them being so great... but they aren't. Thank goodness for Ebay. I'm avoiding the rest of the TV series and sticking with the movie.
Right on man. "I'm sailing!"
re: What About Bob?
Hey, I'm a huge Bill Murray AND Richard Dreyfus fan... but rewatching this movie.... it fucking sucked. I laughed twice the whole time. It was a great memory from childhood ruined. I want my $8 back that I paid for the dvd.

oh come on, it's fucking hysterical all the way through. maybe you've just gotten bitter since childhood.
well, i'm bitter for sure, but i don't know how it would affect this movie.
i just found the name-calling stuff with the kid to be not at all funny, and don't like to see dreyfus play such a one sided "bad guy" type character. i know that's expecting lots from a fluff comedy, but still, it annoyed me.
except for the part where he has bob committed, then he gets called to come back and pick him up, and he's all pissed, and bob won't shut up, so he says the "getouddathecar...." scream that is all garbled. that part kills me...
up until i sold it......igby goes...down and down..and down(really bad film)
