-adaptation-
-25th hour-
-miller's crossing-
-barton fink-
...et al.
seems to put a huge dent in my wallet.
My Coens have already shipped.
I can't wait to see 25th Hour. I missed it at the cinema. Ed Norton, Phil Hoffman, Anna Paquin... the cast alone makes you wanna watch.
Yeah I got my 25th Hour and Adaptation today too. And was annoyed to see that Adaptation used Wild Horses by the stones in a similar setting to a script im writing. damn it. Great movie though.

I had the same experience when they used "White Rabbit" in
The Game. Burned me up, especially 'cos I'm not a big fan of Fincher.
Im goin for adaptation only... for now at least.
Yeah, well how's this for getting screwed:
I had just settled on Glad And Sorry by The Faces to be the last big song in a script I had been working on since high school, then I went to Blow, and they used it in the background of some small scene. And put it on the soundtrack. Aaargh. But my script sucked anyway, so I never finished it... I'm glad and sorry to say.
Since this thread has totally changed into a "Don't you just hate it when a filmmaker unconciously steals your great idea?" thread...
I'd been writing a play for a year an a half - put my absolute heart and soul into it - which was about a writer trying to write a play where the characters simply reflected his personality but he gets so unhappy with it that he has to write himself into the script and make it self-destruct in an orgy of postmodernism and self-loathing... Then I went to see Adaptation...
It's not that it was exactly the same, you know: but now - when I put it on - everyone's going to be, like "Yeah, yeah - it was great, man... (pause)... Have you seen Adaptation...?"
Can't wait for 25th Hour and Adaptation! Seriously, it's just damn painful now. I wanna use one of them for my final project in film study.
Two surreal movies about hapless screenwriters coming out on the same day. You win this round, God!
don't forget Dances with Wolves: Special Edition!
hehe. i actually might buy this. i loved that movie as a kid.
