I was thinking about this line from Vanilla Sky last night, and I realised how spectacularly untrue it is.
For example: What is the capital of Kazakhstan? Money.
What is the square root of 12? Money.
What is the third stage of Karma? Money
It just doesn't work, does it?
Maybe "what's the reason behind 99 out of 100 actions" would be more accurate.
Oh well.
A rare cock-up from Cameron Crowe.
Okay, but let me turn this thread into something else
Is Cameron Crowe the most quoted writer (as in he writes the lines which are oft quoted) in the past 10 years?
quentin tarantino.
i will go again.

Maybe that was intentional to make his characters try to sound intelligent but really aren't? Hmmmm? I good you bid evening.
Was the line in Abre Los Ojos? If yes, then it was Alejandro Amenabar's fault!
its not on Abre los Ojos , the topic of David/Cesar's employment is hardly talked about in Abre los Ojos...
I dont think Crowe is quoted that often. I mean, aside from "show me the money" and "you had me at hello" there arent really many catch phrases in his movies, or at least one that have caught on...
Tarantino has him by far on that matter...
I've honestly heard a lot more Crowe than Tarantino quotes

how are u liking ur new rank titles?
meanwhile, tremolosloth u must live near the "Pat & Kenny Read Cameron Crowe Movie Transcripts" Theater. there's no way crowe has more than tarantino, in reality anyway.
it doesn't matter tho cos The Simpsons is unquestionably the most quoted thing since the bible.
HOMER:[/color] I'm normally not a religious man, but if you're up there, SAVE ME SUPERMAN!!
couldn't resist.

Mel Gibson: I don't have much time, Homer. Will you come to Hollywood with me?
Homer: You had me at "hello".
Mel Gibson: I didn't say "hello".
hehehe.
i can't find any pictures from the cameron "crow" episode. :(
what episode was that cbrad? I wouldnt have expected Cameron to make the Simpsons...
although considering the James L Brooks connection... hmm :)
Homer with crows:
"Russell Crowe, Cameron Crowe, Gregory Peck"
Classic :-D

Medical Marijuana
speaking of the medical marijuana episode, ive got a question. when homers first toking up he's singing "i am hungry for a candy bar! i think i'll eat a mounds!" is that a real song? or is homer just being funny, sidenote, donovan's "wear your love like heaven" is also used brilliantly in this episode

have you been wearing earmuffs?
I still hear more Crowe
hmm can you give me examples? I've actually never even heard a normal person quote Cameron Crowe dialogue... (only in TV/other movie references)
To be honest, most people that quote him (that I know aren't fans of CC) are probably just quoting something else that made a reference to him.
true
i mean for example : show me the money...
although many people probably know it comes from jerry maguire, they probably never make the connection that its the same guy who wrote Singles/Almost Famous/Vanilla Sky...
:?
Although then again, most people who go around quoting Tarantino movies are just the type of people who go around quoting Tarantino movies to feel cool and hip... :P
"English, motherfucker!"
...
Oh, wait, wrong thread.
