Release date: November 1, 2013
Starring: Asa Butterfield, Abigail Breslin, Harrison Ford, Hailee Steinfeld

Premise: 70 years after a horrific alien war, an unusually gifted child is sent to an advanced military school in space to prepare for a future invasion.
When did the MPAA start using Helvetica for their "The following preview has been approved..." screen? Or has it always been that way? It looks different for some reason.
Oh yeah, the movie... It looks like a piece of shit.
Looks pretty good to me, but maybe that's just because I absorbed the book when I was younger. Hope it does the book justice and gives enough attention to Valentine's story as well, but I'm not holding my breath. It's just about time this book was made into a movie. Too bad the author is crazy and the sequels weren't nearly as good.
I get the sense that expectations for this movie will be hugely reliant on one's knowledge of/nostalgia for the book. I never read it, and that trailer makes it look as derivative and forgettable as can be.

Indeed.
I try to read as much as I can but I never got around to this. Orson Scott Card seems to be a fuckwit though.
Harrison Ford just can't do voice overs, has Blade Runner taught us nothing?
