Hey, do you guys think that Rob Zombie likes his wife much?
It's pretty clear the influences that Zombie was working from in here and the flick has a couple of cool shots throughout that harken back to The Shining and a bit of Polanski's stuff, but thats about all it has going for it. The story isn't very good, his wife can't act, and the ending to the film is a mess. It almost seems like he tacked on the climax of the film just so it would seem like a "Rob Zombie" picture because for the most part the film doesn't have that much "shock value" and actually plays out more like a Ti West picture (house of the devil or innkeepers).
