bela tarr is one of my favorite filmmakers and i can't wait to see this new film. it has been slowly circulating through festivals and select cities. cinema guild picked up the u.s. distribution rights and posted a new trailer today.

this will be bela tarr's last film.
so i've seen this, and it's a fucking piece of work. i can't get behind the claims of it being his best film, which is really silly in light of the fact that he made satantango, which just might be the greatest film ever made. still, what a swan song. this is one to rush to when/if it comes out near you.
