Bleh...
Not to belabor the fact that Hollywood trailers suck, but ... what I got from the first couple seconds of that is, elsewhere this has the potential to be a kind of touching story. Reminded a bit of About Schmidt, although it's been way too long since I've seen it to know if it's an accurate comparison or not. The narration in the trailer was horrible, and the trailer itself was too long. I like some of the actors in this. Don't know who Kirk Jones is (haven't seen either of his other two films), but it will be interesting to see if this transcends its trailer and its roots.
i just hope there's a long scene in which he talks to the memory of his wife about how hard it is to get in touch with his kids.
who else pre-ordered tickets?
mainly posting this for three reasons:
1. poster is one of the worst photoshopped works ever, jersey girl still wins
2. some buzz about de niro's good performance which lately is rare
3. is this ratnerize material?? or maybe just deserving a peek-a-boo ratner...

Premise: A widower who realized his only connection to his family was through his wife sets off on an impromptu road trip to reunite with each of his grown children.
is that supposed to be De Niro's hand?
I'm not gonna watch the trailer, but I really like Kirk Jones (Waking Ned Divine and Nanny McPhee were both real good), so I for one would love to see this. I skimmed a review on IMDb which said it wasn't what the reviewer expected it was going to be, and that it was a pleasant surprise.
That is a truly barf-worthy poster, though. I don't know how someone got paid for that.
