Release Date: June 12th, 2009 (wide)

Premise: New York City subway dispatcher Walter Garber's ordinary day is thrown into chaos by an audacious crime: the hijacking of a subway train.
haha, that was dumb.
They remade this film with John Travolta replacing Robert Shaw? Fuuuuck. Owen Roizman, where are you?
Tony Scott used to make really fun mindless action flicks. He hasn't made one in awhile. Everything he does now is just stupid.
I'd like to see a well written essay contrasting the differences between 'mindless' and 'stupid' cinema.
haha... it looked like a parody trailer... I can't wait to see it.

Working on one essay titled 'amazing films and the assholes who love them', maybe I'll go for that one next.

Boogie Nights, Fight Club, Pulp Fiction, The Fountain
I can think of a wide range of different kinds of assholes who love them all, though not always for the right reasons.
The reasons. thats what I'm interested in...

The reasons. thats what I'm interested in...
The reasons they love those films or the reasons they're assholes, OR perhaps they are one and the same...!

They are one and the same.
Haha.
The Jay-Z riff
The humongous leap Denzel takes when he spills his coffee onto himself
Travolta's mustache and his "do it now or I'll kill you"
Travolta trying to act
I'll get a half a gallon
5..5..5..5..5.....4..4..4..4..4......3..3..3..3..3....2..2..2..2..2.....1

They are one and the same.
I bet there's some jerks who love 'Fight Club' but also think 'The Fountain' was "gay".

QuoteSaints is one of those movies if you dont have in youre own little collection then you should check you sexuality. Im not talking about the wife and kids stack. I mean the mans own stack. My stack= Warriors,Braveheart,Gladiatior,Vision Quest,Boondock Saints,
Also....

I'll go toe-to-toe with any of you over good cinema, but this is a POPCORN MOVIE and i loved it. I don't want to be watching a thinking man's movie every single day. I do that a ton, and I enjoy anaylzing good film, but there is a time and a place when I just want to space and watch people get blown the fuck up. Boondock Saints is a fine BTFU movie. I wont see All Saints Day in theater but I'll sure as hell watch it on HBO or cable when it hits.
Lol, you're right. I forgot about those kind of assholes. :yabbse-undecided:
Thats all included, its a dissertation really...but, shouldn't we be discussing this in a different thread.
