I've read quite a few reviews that keep on praising Wes for his "confidence" as a filmmaker.  I've never understood it.  What does that mean exactly?
"Tragedy is a close-up; comedy, a long shot."
- Buster Keaton

My guess would be it relates to his steadfast dedication to delivering the film just as he sees it in his head. He has 'confidence' in his unique quirky vision, and doesn't bow to studio pressures to curb said quirkiness. that's my guess anyway.
"I have love to give, I just don't know where to put it."

the mixture of that avatar and that quote confuses me.
context, context, context.
