Thanks to Nike, Saul Williams is ringing in my ears:

i keep whistling the Godfather theme.
oh my god. this has happened to me so many times. that's one of the most whistlable themes ever.

other things i've whistled for days on end..

- Piano Trio in E-Flat (schubert) from Barry Lyndon. a tough one to whistle, but rewarding.
- Jazz Suite, Waltz 2, from EWS. this melody is practically always in my head. i don't mind.
- other movie themes: Fistful of Dollars, Requiem for a Dream..
- Summertime. works at any speed.
- various tv show themes.. the simpsons, X-Files.

the most recent non-whistlable song i've had stuck in my head, nonstop for a while now: . beautiful song.

really? cause yesterday around 11:30pm (Central) for no apparent reason i started whistling the godfather theme over and over. customers started whistling it as well and the whole store eventually turned into this cacophonous barrage of that little tune. seriously, WTF?
"The myth by no means finds its adequate objectification in the spoken word. The structure of the scenes and the visible imagery reveal a deeper wisdom than the poet himself is able to put into words and concepts" – Friedrich Nietzsche

everytime I try to hum the godfather theme, it comes out X-Files.

 I have had that so many times, but instead of whistling I'm humming.

Also from BL the one I do whistle to no end is Women of Ireland but instead of thinking about the movie I see young Stanley playing and laughing.

I got the new Breeders album...

It's real good. But every time I get done listening to it, I can't stop humming Cannonball.

I never really even liked Cannonball too much.
Maybe every day is Saturday morning.

Please God, someone stop this!
We often went to the cinema, the screen would light up and we would tremble, but also, increasingly often, Madeleine and I were disappointed. The images had dated, they jittered, and Marilyn Monroe had gotten terribly old. We were sad, this wasn't the film we had dreamed of, this wasn't the total film that we all carried around inside us, this film that we would have wanted to make, or, more secretly, no doubt, that we would have wanted to live.

Obviously what you are doing right now is called (in my upcoming book of psychology at least) validation. I think it's a normal thing to do. People will reply, say anything, and then you're gonna do what you were subconsciently thinking of doing all along.
