If Scorsese wins a best director Oscar this year, it's gonna be awful. Come on, he doesn't deserve it for one thing. It would be way too perfect for the academy to give him best director for what is arguably his worst movie. (Quite a fucking stinker I think). Does anyone else think that something's wrong with this. OSCAR = MEDIOCRITY.

Give it to Polanski, it was a much better movie. Anyhow, the ones that really deserve it aren't even nominated. (I.E. Paul Anderson (For Resident Evil- PSYCHE!!!!!!!!!) Paulhomasanderson, Alexander Payne, Hell even Spike Jonze.)

Not Scorsese, man, how could they not have given him an award for Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, even Casino, but "they're" all about this one. Bullshit.  He should never get one, his movies are too good.

My thoughts exactly. I only watch the oscars for some of those cool little montages they do, like the New York City tribute one that Woody Allen introduced last year. That was amazing, I got chills watching it. I tape it every year and fast forward through everything else.

I would only watch the Oscars for a few reasons. I liked the Woody Allen thing, I like when they do tributes, I liked the movie score collage and thats about it. Everything else can be caught up on IMDB or E!

I like the whole competition of the oscars...but I end up crying every year when I realize the competition is between horrible films...

But The Hours is up for some stuff so im happy...*

I like the Oscars. And you do too. You know you do. You will watch every minute of them. You're just one of those movie buffs who publicly displays his digust for the oscars only to lock yourself in your room and indulge in one of your favorite TV experiences of the year. Exactly. The oscars aren't ALL bad, it's just the awards part that I couldn't care less about. The tributes are really amazing.

the screenplay categories aren't thát bad usually... but I changed my mind since this year the UGLIEST movie ever was nominated instead of P-DL: My Big Fat Greekwedding   fuck the academy , they just suck , Steve Martin hopefully will make some 'funny' jokes or else it'll suck all the way this year
