I saw The Quiet American yesterday. Holy crap! I loved it! Second favourite of the year for me. Behind Schmidt.

I just saw the Grey Zone last night on DVD.. it was the saddest Holocaust film I'd ever seen.

The year 2002 was really a good year for movies. So many interesting films came up. There are also great foreign-language movies that came out.

My top ten for the year are:

Adaptation
Y Tu Mama Tambien
Talk To Her
City of God
Igby Goes Down
Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys
The Hours
The Magdalene Sisters
Hero (Zhang Yimou)
Punch-Drunk-Love
"Everything has a RHYTHM to it. But that doesn't mean that the beat will last forever. With some songs, you don't enjoy the beat; but after four and a half minutes you'll be onto the next song. Some days you wake up and your rhythm is on. Some days it's sketchy; but everyday, you wake up. Maybe that's the agenda: FINDING YOUR RHYTHM EVERYDAY."

Ghostboy

I've already moved on to the best of 2003. So far, the top candidates are

Gerry
Irreversible
Raising Victor Vargas
All The Real Girls

I wonder how many of those will still have a place come December.
