This cap is from 'Rush Hour', I was just wondering if anyone has noticed this goof? Because it is a goof, right? Notice the crane, it shouldn't be there at all. Hm.... :?

i saw a mic dip into the shot noticeable during DOWN WITH LOVE.

and i (already) pointed out on my 25th hour DVD...

that the lip synch is completely off when Edward Norton says "No, be my guest", to the DEA officers and the lip synch is completely off. you hear him finish his sentence before his lips move. how the hell could something like this slip by? its in chapter 5 "uncomfortable sofa" for anyone who wants to check this out for me.

That's more likely the projectionist's fault than the filmmakers'.  It's the same thing when I saw "Adaptation" and the tops of everybody's heads were cut off.

it's not on the dvd, but when they framed the vhs of pee wee's big adventure for standard screen, they screwed up and that's why you see the long chain coming from a hole in the case on pee wee's bike (if you've seen the movie, you know what i mean). before i saw a copy of the dvd, i thought that joke was hilarious, but burton's commentary is like, 'yeah, that chain wasn't supposed to be there. they screwed up in the standard screen version.'

I thought he mentioned it on the DVD, but maybe it was in the Burton On Burton book...but he said he kind of wished it was still there, because it added to the movie. I agree!

I dont usually like to think of movie mistakes (especially from movies that I like) but one pops to mind immediately: in 'Spider-Man' when Peter is in his bedroom and launches his web at a lamp, he pulls it back, it shatters against the wall behind him, his grandma comes in, AND THE FUCKING LAMP IS SITTING IN THE SAME SPOT AS BEFORE, UNHARMED. I mean, was that mistake intentional????

i noticed, first thing, when i saw about a boy, the kid is opening his presents and i see in the background a walkman. i'm like, i thought his family is poor, how does he have a walkman? he gets a bunch of shitty presents and then hugh grant gives him the walkman and i'm like, OH SHIT! THERE'S THE FUCKING WALKMAN! THEY SCREWED UP!

I saw the same thing last night in a Sundance Channel viewing of Happiness. It was when the police come to Bill's house.

As far as Spiderman goes.  If that's the only continuity error you noticed, you weren't paying much attention.

It's so chaulk full of that shit.

Especially during the scene at the end in the graveyard.  Hands are jumping up and down like mad.

I really hate people that point out flaws in movies constantly. I mean, some are unforgivable but when it's something small...people just have to chill. There was this fucking girl in my film study class that belted out "that's soooooooooo FAKE!" at least once every class, I swear...it was annoying as hell.

The only flaws that can sometimes bother me are the character or plot ones...like the ones in writing and in storytelling or in casting. Like, for example...I hate how Alex is suppose to be 14 in A Clockwork Orange. There is no way he looks that young! My sister got this idea that he is lying to them, so that kind of helps me sleep at night...that could be true. I'd really like to think that's the case. There's no reason they couldn't have made him older...it was true enough to the book dammit. He should have been at least 16, more like 17 or 18 though.

The prints for DWL were anamorphic, so there isn't that much room for error that the projectionist could show a boom in the shot.

What's really weird is that right now I'm wearing the same shirt Tobey Maguire is in this cap.

I know in the book it's pretty clear how old is he, but in ACO the film his age is never mentioned.

Besides the film is such a masterpiece that that little detail shouldn't be bothering you.

i have noticed many mistakes in goodfellas - when we first meet maury, right before ray liotta beats the shit out of karens neighbor, hand positions are here and there and quite noticable, and also in the billy bats scene, right after he makes fun of tommy and the whole shoe shining thing, he says "salut tommy", but his lips only form one syllable.....oh well, movie still kicks ass.

in minority report, i also noticed that when peter stormare is about to take out tom cruises eyes, he has a line that goes something like "...while a guard with a hard on you couldnt even knock down with a hammer whispers in you ear 'oh nancy, oh nancy'" - in the dvd release they dub over hard on with "attitude" and its pretty noticable, and really pointless if you ask me.

Yea, it really is actually. When he's getting checked upon his arrival at the jail and handing over all of his belongings...he's asked his age by one of the guards and he tells him he's 14.

I checked the scene and he first is asked his name, then his sentence which was for 14 years, maybe that confused you a bit.

Viddy well!

In Eyed Wide Shut, during the scene where Tom Cruise consults with Sydney Pollack in the bathroom upstairs at the party, you can see the reflection of the camera and cameraman in the door.

In Velvet Goldmine, during the scene where Mandy confronts Brian and they have their exchange of quotes, you can very clearly see the shadow of a boom mic invade the upper right hand corner of the screen, then hastily retract.

I only noticed these things because I saw the films so many times, and they don't diminish the experience of re-watching them today.

American Pie:
In the bed room seen when the guy ejaculates in the cup and the next people come in the room when she is about to take a sip out of the cup and he pulls the cup away from her mouth it changes from clear plastic to blue cardboard with a white inside

Batman and Robin: The Movie:
When the girl looks at the picture to crack her uncles codes, it has nothing on it, then she looks at it again, and it has a little message on it!

Bram Stokers Dracula:
The scene where Lucy is talking to the Texan at the party and Jack walks in. The Texan is holding his hat when Jack sits down. In the next shot, Jack gets up and hands the Texan his hat, crushed, and says "Sorry about that."

Clueless:
Cher's last name is read out in class as being Horowitz. But then on her report card, it says Cher Hamilton.

Fled:
The main guy is wearing a sweater in one scene, then they turn the camera onto something else, then like less than a second later back onto him and he's not wearing a sweater

Forrest Gump:
When Forrest Gump is at Jenny's apartment you can see a iron on a ironing board behind him. The iron is in the up right position when the cut to Jenny then back to him the iron is down. When the cut to her then back to him the iron is back in the upright position.

Great Expectations:
In every scene but the last one, Everyone wears green, esspecially Stella

Hope Floats:
When they're in the country dance club, they turn on the jukebox, but you can still see the band playing in the background.

Hope Floats:
During the scene where Harry Connick Jr. Takes Sandra Bullock on a tour of the house he's building there is a huge microphone hanging in the center of the screen as they open the door.

Jurrasic Park:
When the T-Rex gets loose, the lawyer runs out of the car with the kids. The door stays open. In the next shot you see Dr. Grant and Malcolm looking at the car and the door is closed. After that you see the boy closing the door.

Major League 2:
A few things...when the Indians played any other team...it didn't matter who the home team was, the field was always the same. Milwaukee's county Stadium if not mistaken.

Mall Rats:
When Jay runs from the security guard into the food court he say's "that bastard is faster than Walt Flanagin's dog." Walter Flanagin is the guy who played the guy who was signed all over by Stan Lee and his name is in the credits.

Navy SEALs:
The SEAL team undertakes a mission that requires them to make a HALO (High Altitude Low Opening) parachute jump into the ocean where they will begin underwater SCUBA operations. When the team members get on the plane, they are wearing spit-shined combat boots. When they jump out of the plane, they have the same boots on. When they land in the water...thay have swim fins on. Where and how in a skydiving free-fall, do you stop to unlace your boots, take off your socks, put on your neoprene dive booties, stow your boots and then put on your swim fins prior to hitting the water?

Now and Then:
In the scene where the teenage girls are looking in the attic, there is one part when a girl is looking in a mirror and you can see a microphone in the reflection of the mirror.

The Players Club:
In the beginning when Diamond first starts at the club and she's talking to Ronnie, her hair is in one style. When she goes upstairs a second later it's totally different.

Preacher's Wife:
When Courtney Vance meets Denzel Washinton, Vance is seated in a car, Denzel is standing on the sidewalk. The location of the car's rolled-down window changes back and forth from scene to scene.

Pulp Fiction:
The move begins in the diner and the girls says she's "gonna execute every mother-fu**in' last one of ya". At the end of the movie, she yells that she's "gonna execute of last one of you mother-fu**ers." this is no big deal except for the fact that the above line is the most important line in the movie because it ties the whole thing together.

Tommy Boy:
did you notice when tommy bent the door and in the side of the car was a big dent and then got it shut and when richard walks back you can see there is not dent in the car now...

Twister:
During the second twister, Helen Hunt, Bill Paxton, and Jami Gertz, are in the truck, and a cow flies by. If you look at the window next to Jami Gertz right after the cow scene, you will see that it is not raining and a black minivan drives by.

Twister:
Towards the end of Twister, Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton are driving ahead of the last tornado and trying to avoid falling debris. A large piece of farm equipment hits the right side of the windshield and cracks the glass. In the next scene, the windshield is not broken.

Twister:
In the movie "Twister" all of the television meteorologists are real. The first scene shows a tornado advisory broadcast of Channel 9 anchor, Gary England (the clip is an authentic one from the 1960's). Gary is still reporting for channel 9 in Oklahoma. The Weather man interviewing Cary Elwes is Jeff Lazileer from channel 4, and Mike Morgan from channel 5 is on the television later on.

Wedding Singer:
When Robbie Hart who is in the dumpster after the "Love Stinks" brawl is talking to Julia, there is a decorative silver hoop that hops from left to right to left every time the scene cuts back to him.

Wedding Singer:
In the Wedding Singer when they go on the shopping spree for Julia's wedding and they are at the Carvel Ice Cream Parlor you should notice that if the movie takes place in 1985, why oh why do they have the new Carvel logo with the spinkles the 80's was vanilla ice cream in a cup with a cherry.

When Robert DeNiro is in a cafe talking to Jodi Foster she wears two very different sunglasses in the same scene

Star Wars:The Empire Strikes Back:
Did anyone notice after Han Solo was captured and about to be frozen in the chamber, he has his vest on, the camera moves to Leah and back to Han, not wearing his vest, then back to Leah and back to Han, again wearing his vest?

Back To The Future:
When Marty is trying to out drive the Libyans in the mall parking lot, the mileage on the DeLorean keeps changing. The first time you see the spedometer with the mileage below it, it's one number, and the next time you see it, the mileage is lower! They obviously filmed it out of order and didn't check for this mistake!

Legend:
The unicorns are wearing horse shoes-how realistic!!!!

Pretty Woman:
In "Pretty Woman", after Vivian and Edward spend their first night together, they are talking and eating breakfast. Vivian is eating a croissant in one shot, and in the next one she is eating a pankcake.

Grease:
When Vi and Frenchy are in the Frosty Palace, Vi is closing up and she comes down the steps with a tray in her hand and turns off the light with her elbow. If you watch, you'll notice she misses the light switch by a mile.

I have no proof, but I swear, when I saw Welcome to the Dollhouse (once) in the theatre, I caught the boom mic dipping into the top of the frame at least three times.

There have been times I've noticed glaring boom visibility, only to be told that the "projectionist wasn't framing correctly." I only sort of understand this, but apparently, this is often not at all the fault of the filmmaker and has everything to do with the competency of the projectionist... much more is visible on the celluloid than we're meant to see, from what I gather...

Maybe someone can explain this further and better than I have.

Oops, There It Is -- Best Film Flubs of '04

Buried under the avalanche of year-end lists is one that won't make moviemakers very happy. MovieMistakes.com has named and shamed its 15 favorite continuity errors of 2004.

The selections are based on the site's ( http://www.moviemistakes.com ) system of visitor scoring, but they're also weighted at the discretion of proprietor Jon Sandys "so that 'Harry Potter and the PoA' (Prisoner of Azkaban) and 'Spider-Man 2' didn't fill the list themselves," as he put it.

Sandys chose some mask difficulties from his list of Spidey problems, in particular a bit that gets blackened during the famous train scene but mysteriously becomes clean soon after.

In "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," the room containing the Monster Book of Monsters changes proportions to accommodate the action.

Other moments making the list include a sandwich with multiplying crusts in "Kill Bill-Vol. 2," a flexible shovel in "Secret Window," a self-healing car in "The Bourne Supremacy" and a sun that rises in the west during "Troy."

MovieMistakes.com gets more than 20,000 visitors a day, Sandys said, with traffic increasing dramatically after the release of a new blockbuster.

1.) Spider-Man 2: During the train scene, Spiderman's mask had gone partially black. We also see it when Spidey puts his mask back on. Yet when Doc brings him to Harry, we don't even see a patch of darkness on his mask.

2.) Kill Bill: Volume 2: When Bill is cutting the crusts off a sandwich towards the end, he cuts two off, goes to remove the third, then the angle changes and he's now cutting it in half. After that we hear him sweep the crusts off the board and see him hand the sandwich to BB, then a shot or two later crusts are back on the board and he cleans them off again to make another sandwich.

3.) The Day After Tomorrow: In the scene where Jack is briefing the President, he draws a line on a map of the U.S. and tells the President to have everybody south of that line evacuated. The shape of the line changes between shots.

4.) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban: When Harry drops the Monster Book of Monsters, in the first shot facing Harry's feet as the book chomps at him, he runs backwards a few steps and he stands at the foot of the bed. However, in the shot facing the fireplace, there is actually plenty of floorspace now, much more than other shots, between the rug and bed for Harry to continue to run backwards.

5.) Secret Window: When Shooter pins Mort against the tree with the shovel, you can see that it's a rubber shovel because it's bending around Mort's neck.

6.) Troy: In the scene where Achilles and Briseis wake up in the morning after spending their first romantic night together, there are a few shots of the sun just beginning to rise. The problem is that the sun is rising over the sea which is to the west of Troy. Since when does the sun rise in the west?

7.) Mean Girls: After the Halloween party, when Cady walks into Damian and Janyce's house, Damian gets scared and tosses all of the popcorn out of his bowl. In the next shot of Damian his bowl is full again.

8.) Starsky & Hutch: When Hutch tackles Starsky to the ground after his gun goes off in the disco, Starsky's badge falls to the ground beside his head. Hutch grabs it and holds it up, telling people to calm down, but when the shot returns to Starsky the badge is still there next to his head.

9.) Shrek 2: When Fairy Godmother is throwing the books behind her, the book "Snow White" lands on the other books. "Snow White" noticeably changes position between two shots.

10.) The Bourne Supremacy: In the Moscow car chase, Bourne's car is hit from the driver's side by a patrol car. The driver's side window breaks. In the next few shots, you do not see any broken glass on Bourne. In the very next shot the car is not damaged on the driver's side.

11.) The Butterfly Effect: When Evan tries to get his journals back from the bullies in the jail, the object that the guy on the bed is reading alternates from a closed copy of Hustler, to a journal and back several times.

12.) 13 Going on 30: In her apartment Jenna walks out into the hallway, looks at herself in the mirror and stumbles backwards over the shelf behind her. There is a short stack of magazines on that shelf, yet when Jenna looks at herself in the mirror the stack of magazines is at least three times as high in the reflection.

13.) Along Came Polly: When Reuben "accidentally" bumps into Polly at her apartment for the first time, he sees her crouching on the floor trying to find her keys in her purse. Next to her is a shopping bag with a loofah in it, whose handle keeps dramatically changing position in each shot.

14.) The Passion of the Christ: When Jesus tells Peter to stop fighting against the temple guards when in the garden, you can see the background behind him: a small tree by a large one. The shot cuts to Peter and then back to Jesus telling him to again stop. The background is now reversed.

15.) Hellboy: Hellboy tosses Dr. Manning through the quickly-closing door to escape the pendulum on the bridge - he barely makes it under. Hellboy then spends thirty seconds dodging the pendulum, but when he dives for the door it's still closing at the same point and speed - just enough for him to pass.
