HAIM says (http://pitchfork.com/news/73057-haim-share-video-for-new-song-right-now-reveal-album-release-date-watch/):
"The whole story of how this video came about is kind of a crazy story. My mom was studying to be a teacher and to get your credential as a teacher you have to shadow another teacher and get your hours in. My mom gets a gig teaching credential gig at a school in the Valley. First twist: My mom is shadowing the teacher at the school. First week, the teacher has a heart attack in the in the parking lot of the school and my mom becomes the sole art teacher at this school. In one week. My mom was younger than me, like 22/23, and she now has 5 or 6 classes of kids that she now is the teacher for. She would always talk about this one kid named Paul. That she loved this kid Paul, he was very energetic, artistic, vivacious. We'd turn the TV on and Boogie Nights would come on or Magnolia and our mom was like, 'oh that's Paul's movie.' That being Paul Thomas Anderson. We were like, Mom are you talking about Paul Thomas Anderson? And she was like, 'Yes that is Paul, I taught Paul.' And so we were like, 'Okay mom.'

So now we're flashing forward to 2015, and we get a call from the most amazing person Asa at Electric Guest and he was like, 'So, um something crazy happened last night. I was at a party and I ran into Paul Thomas Anderson. And we were rapping about music and what we were listening to and Paul was like, 'I'm really digging this band, they're 3 sisters, they're from the Valley, they're repping the 818,' and Asa was like, 'Haim?' and he was like "Yes, Haim!' And Asa was like, I've known them since I was 15. And Paul was like 'Will you give them my email?' And Asa called us and was like Paul Thomas Anderson wants you to have his email. And we were like 'Ohmygosh, are you sure we're the right band? When he said Haim was he meaning Corey Haim or was he meaning someone else like 3 sisters from somewhere else? I dont know.' And Asa was like, 'No, he means you.'

So we got his email. We emailed him instantly. The email was like 'Yo, can we like hang out in the valley sometime? Henry's tacos (https://www.yelp.com/biz/henrys-tacos-studio-city)... Dupars (http://www.dupars.net/Store/), every Valley-ism that I could pull out of my ass. [We looked at the email like a day before we hit send.] So he emailed us back and was like 'Let's get dinner.' And we're like [freaking out] 'Okay!' This was the tail end of Days Are Gone. And we both were uberfans of each other and we were like 'Okay, we're gonna go to Paul's house. We're gonna have dinner. Let's not mention mom because what if he didn't like mom? What if mom was an awful teacher? So we go to his house and we're so nervous that in the first three seconds, we're like 'Hey! Word vomit! My mom taught you back in the day!' And he was like 'What?' And we were like 'My mom was an art teacher" and he was like, 'Mrs. Rose?' He said Mrs. Rose! And we were like 'Yes that's our mom!' And he's like 'Hold on a second.' So he leaves, comes back with a painting of the mountain from Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and he was like 'I painted this with your mom, I've kept it all this time, all these years, and I keep it in my son's room.' And we were like 'Ohmigosh' so that was the first connection.

At that point we were at the very tail end of Days Are Gone. And we were like trying to get things together, we didn't know what we could do. So we were just like 'You know what? Let's table this, let's just be homies.' So now flash forward to now. A couple months ago we were putting together our record, we had this chunk of songs, and we were thinking 'who do we trust and respect?' we want to show this music to someone. And Paul just kinda popped in our heads, so we emailed him and were like 'Hey we have this chunk of songs, we wanna show you them, we wanna get your opinion' and he instantly emailed back like 'Date and time? Place? Tell me.' And so he came to the studio the next day and we showed him the songs, and we were listening to it and he was like 'Why don't we just shoot this? You guys are in the studio, let's just shoot this.' And we were like '[whispers]... Genius Paul.'

So a couple of weeks later he came to the studio with his amazing crew and just like a fly on the wall just filmed us, everything on film, everything live to tape, and the best thing about it is when we shot this thing, the song kind of evolved from there. Where we were with the song to that point, it kinda evolved from that point, that was kinda like our starting point. So that was a very special moment for him to shoot because everything changed. We were initially tracking it. And I think what happened was we loved how it sounded, so we kinda just added from there. The recorded version that will come out with the album really is not that different so you really see the making of our record, and that was kinda why we wanted to start with this piece.

I think it's really hard to get what's in your mind onto tape. And it's really interesting to see Paul's process, the way he shot it. I mean we were just in the room, you could hear a lot of the room actually, which I really like about the recording, you can really hear the room. The room mics were really loud and you can hear our stomping around. And Paul really was like 'I wanna hear Alana click on her pedal' and you can hear that click when she does it, and you can hear our heels and we were like wow, this is crazy, I can't believe we pulled this off in a day. We had a day, one day. Paul had one day before he was going to go and film a movie. He was like 'I literally have one day, I have 10 hours.'"

Haim hints that they recorded more than just this one song so we'll probably be seeing some more of these studio vids over the next few months.

Filmed on location at Valentine Recording Studios, North Hollywood, CA

Looks like two of the other little snippets already came out.

And a teaser for yesterday's video drop from a couple days ago:

I actually really like the song. I like that it's this weird, not album ready, stripped down version.
The video is great, I've watched it a few times and I always get excited when the exposure drops.

RS (http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/how-haim-found-their-way-back-with-something-to-tell-you-w480244) sheds a few more tiny details about the PTA/HAIM collabo:

Last year, Haim got word that another iconic California artist wanted to meet them. "Our friend was at this party, and Paul Thomas Anderson was there too, talking about how he really liked 'these girls who play rock music and come from the Valley,'" Alana says. The director asked the friend to pass Haim his e-mail. Soon, they found themselves over for dinner with Anderson and his wife, Maya Rudolph ("One of the funniest people on the planet," says Este). Anderson said he wanted to shoot something with them. "It was like, 'Uh, you could shoot us on an iPhone for an hour if you want,'" Alana says.

Last November, Anderson dropped in as Haim laid down preliminary tracks at a Valley recording studio called Valentine. The studio had mostly ceased operations in the Seventies and was frozen in time, from the equipment down to the "vintage porn magazines lying around," Alana recalls. As Haim worked out arrangements on the fly, Anderson circled with a film camera. "In the room, it looked like nothing," says Rechtshaid, "and we were like, 'Uh, is this working out?'" "He was like, 'Yeah, got it, perfect,'" Alana says. "And when we saw the dailies, we were like, 'Eureka!'" Haim decided to use clips from this impromptu session – Danielle behind a drum kit, banging out a monster beat; the trio feeling their way through a rough version of a pining song called "Right Now" – to promote Something to Tell You.

It turned out they had another connection to Anderson: He also grew up in the Valley, and their mother, Donna, was his elementary-school art teacher. "She told us he was a really talented kid," Alana says, "but really hyperactive, and that she tied him to his chair with yarn once, to get him to sit still." She cracks up. "This was back in the day – not legal now!"

When they told Anderson, "He showed us this painting of the mountain from Close Encounters of the Third Kind. He was like, 'I love your mom – I painted this with her.'" "We have that Valley kinship with him," Danielle says. Este nods: "The connection is deep."

Reminds me of Boogie Nights (especially that opening scene).

I think I dig Valentine the most out of the recent videos ... but dang they're all really nice. I can't wait for Phantom Thread.

Ah, indeed...

"I do music videos because the Haim girls are in my life. As long as they're around, I'll hopefully be doing music videos for them. That's one of the best creative relationships I've had in a while. I love those girls. I hope to do their whole filmography. I love them. It's great music, they're super charismatic to film. Everything we do is like a home movie because it's a very familial type situation," the director told us in an interview last month.

I reckon that new video was shot in anamorphic. The giveaways are the aspect ratio and the lens flare at night. Tests for the next movie, perhaps? I would love to see PTA shoot anamorphic on the next feature.

During the very last section when they are walking away from the book star (which is actually Barnes and Noble) they are on ventura and laurel canyon. I go there every Sunday for the farmer market which is just a block down the street and I go to that book store a lot. Its fun seeing familiar valley places in a PTA work.

Must admit I feel the same about all these HAIM videos, but maybe my complete disinterest in the music isn't helping either. As others have said, seems like more of a proving ground for lens tests and experiments with colour/costume/movement.

a sense of family: they are sisters. their mother was a school teacher of his. they are professional musicians. he is a professional camera-related person. they all already live near each other. pta has filmed musicians walking around since fionna apple, into radiohead, now haim. his production history indicates community conversation regarding creative development. his production history indicates interest in the type of photography being implemented

the distress about disinterest in haim is unrelated to a rational conversation about the music video that's going along fine enough but just with vocal personal distress at the forefront as well. it's all human

Gotta say though, Haim is one of the few huge pop bands in America and they are signed to a major label. I'm sure he's getting paid as well as any director of any music video would these days. And he deserves it.

Some really nice images here... lots of whimsy and sweetness mixed in with the gloomier vibes. Love the on the sleeve emotionality of PTA's work in general and I think it pairs well with this song.

It hasn't been that quiet a year for PTA fans after all! I'm definitely grateful for this year's Haim collaborations and for Anima. And separate from the filmmaking, there were all those contributions to that CNN movies series over the summer... really appreciated so many of his comments there... that story he tells about Rocky and his mother was moving. That one has stuck with me for some reason.

And if he's making these music videos quickly (I think one of the Haim bandmates mentioned that these videos are sort of done "guerrilla style" or something like that) then it really doesn't show. That's partly what made watching this so invigorating. Just my impression of his skills being tested in an especially time sensitive way and the results still exuding all of the usual confidence and flair.

With the 70s vibes of the new video, and PTA's history of using music videos as camera tests, I wonder if the new film will look similar.

I love this new one! I didn't like the last one at all, but this one has so much camera movement, variety in the shots, LA scenery, 70s vibes, etc., and a good story. How could I not love it?

Well in Summer Girl their chorus references Jewish folk lyrics, bound together by PTA'z visuals:
QuoteDon't walk in front of me, I may not follow;
Don't walk behind me, I may not lead;
Just walk beside me, and be my friend;
And together we will walk in the way of Hashem.

Yeah, I have to agree. Either this one, or the one with the New Beverley in it where the Haim sisters just walked around for a few minutes.

I think Youtube's bitrate spoils any kind of enjoyment I might get from these videos. Paul hasn't been shying away from the "dirtiness" of film grain lately, even making a point of bringing it out in Phantom Thread and Anima ... but when you combine that with youtube's garbage compression artifacts, it just looks so bad. It's pretty much unwatchable to me, unfortunately.

For what it's worth, I thought Paul's video with them for "Now I'm In It" was awesome. It reminded me a lot of the look of Boogie Nights and Magnolia. The other ones lately just feel too rough around the edges.

I still don't know why he's making all these videos with them. He's probably just having fun, keeping active with these mini projects, testing lenses, films, etc., working on his skills, getting to film in different times of day in LA (which will be good for his upcoming film), and so on. But still, Haim's music is so mediocre that I have to wonder who their dad or close relative is in the music business.

There's no standard anymore. The Visual Album is very popular because youtube is used to listen to music (lyric videos, official visualizer, etc), so the more plentiful your videos are the better you chart all around streaming.

Actually there is a "relative" connection.  The mother of the Haim girls happened--by a Magnolia-level-coincidence--to have been Paul's art teacher in high school.  He didn't know that before he started working with them--he liked them as a band--but that kind of connection must have helped seal the ongoing deal.

You said it.

This is proof that you really can work with someone too many times. It's lost its luster and is just kind of annoying now. Admittedly, if I liked their music more, I'd be a bit more understanding. Are any of these songs hits? Why not do videos for some huge artists like, idk, Beyonce or Kanye or whomever. It all seems like kind of a waste.

I guess I should be glad he's using all his "phone it in" for-hire energy on this stuff instead of an actual film. I also notice and find it odd how his music video subjects are mostly women when his films aren't.

they bred for this, it's um partridge family

QuoteThe sisters grew up in a musical family, and began playing instruments from an early age in the cover band Rockinhaim, fronted by their parents, Moti and Donna. The two elder sisters, Este and Danielle, began performing with the pop group Valli Girls in 2005. They released a few songs on soundtrack and compilation albums under that name, but left the group shortly after an appearance at the 2005 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

one must say that they developed

Sorry, I just think the bulk of his career these days being mediocre music videos for a pop group is a little depressing. To each their own.

Actually, forget what I said earlier. If he wants to stay busy, I think I'd rather see him do a middlebrow studio for-hire film like a Bond movie or a Ford vs. Ferrari and see what he could make out of it than continuing doing this shit.

The thing is, It doesn't matter. He does these videos because they all live in LA. It would be nice if the pop band was actually good but whatever. Actually, I really dig Valentine and the one where they dancing in a room; it just became obvious that he's home-movie the Haim sisters, which isn't always that interesting. But he did the same with Radiohead, filming Yorke and Greenwood playing in his garden. Memories. All that.

OK.  I get it now.  April 1st and all...

Paul Thomas Anderson's Best Work — on Video
By Armond White   April 1, 2020 6:30 AM

The best work of critics' darling Paul Thomas Anderson is now available online. Anderson's six music videos, made in collaboration with the California female pop trio Haim, constitute his most emotionally effective filmmaking. [emphasis mine] Unlike his celebrated wannabe-masterpieces There Will Be Blood, The Master, and Phantom Thread, Anderson's Haim videos evince charming creativity, which indie movie aesthetics usually lack. It's surprising that Anderson, of all aesthetes, has revived the music video, a format that has faded into obscurity this millennium.

The Haim sisters — lead vocalist and drummer Danielle, bassist Este, and guitarist Alana — supply the human touch missing from Anderson's hipster caprices. Each young woman personifies the sisterly camaraderie that was faked in Greta Gerwig's forgettable Little Women. (Critic Ben Kessler cited Anderson's videos as a notable alternative to that boutique indie twaddle.) Unlike vapid film actresses, the Haim sisters are what French cineastes called jolie laide — which Americans appreciate as average, relatable, sexy archetypes.

Their harmonious vocal range parallels the hereditary traits that Anderson captures through their physical natures. The newly released Steps and last year's Now I'm in It, two female heartbreak songs styled after Karla Bonoff but with an impudent swing, go from sad to revived — each girl sharing hurt and resilience. Anderson follows their emotional bond, via his unfettered moving camera, through different locations and stages of growth, while they're waitressing, at a car wash, or in a bar.

That's the Haim-Anderson motif. It recalls French director Benoît Jacquot's series of Nineties skirt-chasing movies (A Single Girl, The Disenchanted), but it's expressly Californian, with an effrontery that is part shayna maydel and part pure alternative pop. The usually humorless Anderson evokes the Pixies' light-hearted Alec Eiffel video, taking on the antic quality that has defined pop videos since the Beatles. This probably comes as a surprise to self-serious reviewers who praise Anderson as their cynical neo-Kubrick.

While Anderson's feature films tend to be imponderable (he is the first director to adapt Thomas Pynchon and has made videos for Radiohead, the egghead alt-rock band), his girl-group video work is absolutely emotionally direct, starting with his Fiona Apple collaborations, peaking with her delightful production number Paper Bag (2000). Like Haim's A Little of Your Love, Anderson surpasses everything in Damien Chazzelle's La La Land. His best videos serve the point of shrewd yet gentle female assertion, as in Haim's striptease and proud, bouncy strutting in the Summer Girls video, heading off the #MeToo movement.

Anderson's alt-feminist vision shows the same derivativeness as that of his film-geek peer Quentin Tarantino. Haim's Valentine combines three songs from their first album recorded at LA's Valentine studio — an experiment in real-time illusion that pays homage to Jonathan Demme's New Order video The Perfect Kiss (1985), a landmark of post-punk elegance and cinematic luxe that was photographed by the legendary Henri Alekan. So Anderson shoots Haim using 35mm film for visual depth and sensual texture. In Hallelujah, the group's kaddish for lost friends, Anderson portrays their lament similarly, using live theater devices that have a metaphysical effect.

The art-temple atmosphere of that video is an extension of Robert Altman's last film, A Prairie Home Companion (2006). Anderson, whose filmography shadows all of Altman's movies, was on-set as Altman's insurance back-up, and his Haim videos continue that film's inspiration through Altman's signature mixed-genre approach and, especially, the sisterly theme that Altman established in Prairie Home Companion, Cookie's Fortune, A Wedding, and Kansas City.

Every Anderson-Haim video presents the intimate, familial experience of self-recognition and empathy. While Anderson's feature films encourage exhortations from a nihilistic claque, the little-remarked-upon Haim videos offer welcome emotional accord similar to Altman's example. Though none of Anderson's videos matches the great spiritual, political agit-pop of Mary Lambert's 1989 video for Madonna, Like a Prayer, these images of the Haim sisters sharing one another's burdens nonetheless remind one of our current political needs. Critic Gregory Solman suggested that "if everyone's singing the same key, they're not in harmony." Anderson's videos show how the brunette-to-blonde Haim sisters blend soprano, tenor, and alto voices, physiognomies, and personalities. Visually and musically, they demonstrate varied responses to the same social or intimate condition. In the video Steps, Anderson shows the mundane to be universal while Haim pointedly sings, "If you go left and I go right, hey baby, that's just life sometimes."

These videos are metaphors for the separation and harmony of powers.

How Haim Built Their Long-Running Collaboration with Paul Thomas Anderson

QuoteThe rest of your music video filmography is highlighted by your very unique collaborative relationship with Paul Thomas Anderson. How did your relationship start?

Alana: It's a very long story, but I'll give you the CliffsNotes because I don't want to take 45 hours of your time. But what really fast-forwarded our relationship was that our friend Asa Taccone, who's in this band called Electric Guest, was at a party, and we don't get invited to parties, but that's a discussion for another time. But Asa was at a party and he was overhearing Paul talk about these three sisters from the Valley. And Paul loves the Valley as much as we do. I think that really just solidified our relationship. And Asa, who I've known since I was 16 was like, "Are you talking about Haim? Those are my girls." And he was like, "Yes! Haim. Give them my email." And Asa called us the next day and was like, "Yeah, hey, PTA wants me to give you his email. Can you email PTA?" And we're like, "What? What's happening here?" And I think it took us five days to muster up the courage. Half of our thought process was, "This is probably a hoax." And so we finally sent him an email. And then we started emailing each other. And then he invited us over for dinner and we met his whole family. Maya Rudolph is also the most incredible human being of all time.

Este: She's my idol. She really is.

Alana: And we became really close, but we never knew whether we were going to do something together. And then when we were putting Something to Tell You together, Paul visited us in the studio just to hang. He is such a lover of music. And he came and he was like, "Oh, we should film this." And we were like, "What?" And he was like, "This." So that's where Valentine came about. When we were shooting it we had no idea what it was going to be for, what it was going to become.

What has been your experience working with him over these number of years and music videos?

Alana: I mean he's been such a huge part of the last two records. He is just the best cheerleader. He is just so down to bounce ideas off of. It's all very much an open forum.

Este: It also helps that all of his ideas are really good.

How would you describe Paul's approach to your music videos?

Alana: It really just depends on the song. We show Paul everything before we even show our label or management or anyone. Paul's always our first call. With "Summer Girl" I just remember him coming to the studio, and we showed him a bunch of ideas. And we had always loved the song, but it wasn't done yet.

Danielle: We weren't even making an album. We were just in the studio messing around and he just came to listen to stuff and that was the one that stuck out to him. He was like, "Oh, that was cool. It feels like a breath of fresh air." And we started talking about it and he said, "It just feels like that moment where we're about to be in summer, when it's like 103 degrees in the Valley, it's so hot and sticky and you get home from work or from school and you see a pool in the distance and you're just like, 'I need to get in that pool,' and you're taking off all your layers and diving headfirst in the pool." And we were like, "Wait, I fucking love that. How do we do that?"

Alana: "We don't have a pool. How do we do this?" And it really was just, why don't we just run around L.A. and ask for favors. The last shot we did full guerilla-style, no permit, outside on Ventura.

Danielle: In my head the night before I was like, "I'm gonna look so awkward taking off clothes. This is gonna be the most awkward shit ever. But when we're all with Paul and we're walking it through, it just ended up happening in that moment where it felt OK.

Alana: I wish I could tell you that our music videos are planned months in advance but we've never worked that way, especially with this record. Everything has been so spontaneous, flying by the seat of our pants. That's why Paul is so amazing. I don't think we've ever had a Paul music video that's been planned more than a couple days in advance. "In the next four days it has to be out," and he's like, "Alright, let's try something. Let's go."

Is that how Danielle wound up going through a car wash in "Now I'm in It"?

Danielle: That might have been one of the first ideas for that video, where I end up in a car wash. The two main things I remember from "Now I'm In It" was the stretcher and then my sisters helping me get out of this funk with me in a stretcher and going into the car wash to wash it away.

Alana: My knees for the next, like, three months, I felt like a grandma after that because we had to carry Danielle around on a stretcher and I was wearing platform shoes. I was like, "I am in so much pain."

My perception of Paul is only through his body of work. What do you feel is the biggest misconception about him?

Alana: You see these incredible documentaries about these bands in a studio and I've always been like, "Fuck, I want to look like Tom Petty at Sound City [Studios]. I just want to look like that." And I remember seeing Valentine and feeling like he captured something that I honestly don't think anyone has ever been able to capture. We've done so many sessions in studios for various things and I think with Valentine it really did feel like he saw something that no one else had seen before and really captured us as a band. At the end of the day we're a rock band and what he captured—I remember just looking at it and my jaw dropping. He saw something that I have always wanted to see, but I never thought that I would be that person. It just felt like so much bigger than me. I feel so grateful that he likes working with us and wants to work with us and wants to shoot us.

Este: Don't jinx it, Lans.

Interesting that there's no mention of the story I've encountered that--in a very Magnolia-esque way--their Mom turned out to be Paul's art teacher in high school.   :ponder:

Probably not. The one where she goes from job to job is particularly ludicrous.

I love the new one, though. Lovely way to twist the song.

Though it looks great, I prefer Flat over Scope for the 70s setting of the upcoming flick.

Maybe the scope hopefuls can knock on wood that this video points to an Anamorphic feature.

QuoteThe story begins when Anderson told the band they should all get together and film a music video for "Summer Girl," but the problem was the song was not finished yet. As band member Este Haim said, "We were like to Paul, 'Wait, pump the breaks. We haven't even finished the song.' But he was like, 'Who gives a shit. Let's do a video for it.'

That's not surprising.

For posterity:

QuotePaul Thomas Anderson has directed six music videos for the Haim sisters, whose 2020 rock album "Women in Music Pt. III" is nominated at the Grammys for Album of the Year later this year. But it turns out the "Phantom Thread" and "Boogie Nights" director has impacted Haim's music far more than just from behind the camera. On this week's episode of the "Song Exploder" podcast, the band and their collaborators revealed that Anderson played a key role in writing the bridge of the song "Summer Girl" after he sent over unused movie dialogue for the Haim members to use however they wanted.

The story begins when Anderson told the band they should all get together and film a music video for "Summer Girl," but the problem was the song was not finished yet. As band member Este Haim said, "We were like to Paul, 'Wait, pump the breaks. We haven't even finished the song.' But he was like, 'Who gives a shit. Let's do a video for it.' When Paul Thomas Anderson says, 'Jump,' you say, 'How high?'"

"We are such big fans of him and to collaborate with someone like that is unbelievable," Danielle Haim said. "It's very strange to even talk about it. Paul was saying there should be a part in the video where she's just looking in the camera and speaking."

To help the band finish the song, and hearing that Danielle Haim wanted the "Summer Girl" bridge to include spoken dialogue, Anderson decided to send over pages of unused movie dialogue to the band to help get the song finished so that they could all shoot the music video.

"I told him we were thinking of adding this bridge where Danielle is talking to me and he sent unused dialogue from some stuff he had written in the past and he said, 'See if any of this inspires you,'" Haim producer Ariel Rechtshaid said.

Danielle Haim added, "We had these pages of [Paul Thomas Anderson's] dialogue and we kind of just picked out certain words. It's weird how the words on the page fit the song."

One part of Anderson's unused movie dialogue involved an earthquake drill, which inspired the part of "Summer Girl" where Danielle Haim says, "I need you to understand these are the earthquake drills we ran." Rechtshaid was also trying to find words to describe how Danielle Haim, who is also his girlfriend, stood by him and uplifted him after he was diagnosed with cancer the year prior. That's when Rechtshaid stumbled on a piece of Anderson's unused dialogue that read "walk beside me," which also found its way into the song.

"I sent [the song] to Paul and he was like, 'That's great!'" Rechtshaid said. "I asked if he wanted writing credit and he was like, 'No, I didn't write that. You completely recontextualized it."

The ongoing collaboration between Haim and Anderson is set to continue with the director's next movie, which was shot in late summer and fall 2020 under the working title "Soggy Bottom." The youngest Haim member, Alana Haim, has a starring role in the movie opposite Bradley Cooper and Cooper Hoffman, son of the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. Haim will also stay busy in the movie world by writing the original music to the upcoming Netflix animated musical "The Witch Boy."

From someone that saw LOST TRACK before LP last night:

QuoteIts referred to as Lost Track, it stars mainly Danielle Haim and it's set in what appears to be a church or a banquet hall with some kind of celebration (baby shower, wedding shower, that kind of vibe). There's older women who rearrange the room (tables, chairs, etc) for the last half of the video.

The video follows Danielle as she dances, walks, and sings the song. The song leans more towards the style of "Cherry Flavored Stomache Ache" the song they released last year, a very bright pop song. It is a new song.

I didn't realize it was a new video when I saw it, I thought it was just a part of licorice pizza that everyone had seen. I hope that helps!

I saw it. Really poppy and peppy. Like the first album. Probably the weakest of his videos with them, most simple alongside Man From Magazine but cute. Danielle walking around a wedding recital. Knocks over Alana's drink. But cute. Visually, looks like the movie--blue flares, anamorphic, white blowout

On a music video set, playing the song you're making a video for over speakers so the performance matches up with the recorded version.
