Where were you when I laid the Yada while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?
Ascension.

Maybe skipping festivals altogether? Seems like a similar release plan to Phantom Thread.

The article is still on their website, though they clarified Christmas Day now  (not much of a difference, tbf):

https://deadline.com/2021/04/denzel-washingtons-a-journal-for-jordan-sets-year-end-theatrical-release-1234740304/]

QuoteA Journal for Jordan will open on the Wednesday before Christmas Eve Friday. Three other titles are opening on that Wednesday: Warner Bros/HBO Max's The Matrix 4 , Universal/Illumination's Sing 2 and 20th Century Studios' The King's Man.

United Artists Releasing will have a wide break of Paul Thomas Anderson's new movie on Christmas Day with the Haley Bennett and Peter Dinklage title Cyrano going exclusive in LA and NYC.

I had some intel a bit ago that suggested Thanksgiving Limited and Christmas wide, so I'm glad that seems to be holding...

Alma

It's pretty normal for films to play Venice/TIFF/Telluride and then wide release around Christmas time, so it could still go to festivals.

itwasgood

It's most likely to be NYFF if it's to go to any film festivals.

QuoteWhile the film's reported working title is "Soggy Bottom," UAR confirms the movie is still without an official theatrical release title.

No JoAnne Sellar and Daniel Lupi?
