Nothing really new here. Just makes me want so bad for that SE dvd to come out. Damn, I love Scorsese, and I love when Ebert writes about him...

Alright, I've read it.  I've seen Goodfellas about twice, and my impression of it on second viewing dwindled.  I've noticed something about Scorsese that I view as a big weakness: he uses way too much narration.  First time through, it was endearing.  Second time around, I realized it was just too much.  This is also the case in Casino.  I love Ebert, and Scorsese makes good movies, but sometimes, I feel like people just drool all over Scorsese way too much.  I agree with Kael here: Goodfellas is a good movie, but not a great one.
