No you didn't!!
Con-Air is a pure popcorn classic.
Here are some bad movies with good casts:
Hook
Dick Tracy
Deep Impact
And one ultimately disappointing movie with a great cast:
State and Main
batman begins.
con air is just a pot of bad jokes
AIRPLANE GUY: Cy........
MALKOVICH: ...onara!
boom
and only a good one.
STUPID GUY: What is this?
MALKOVIC: This is a rock.

Rule of Cinema #3234: No film that casts Steve Buscemi as a serial killer can be entirely bad.
Buscemi's best quote: "Define irony: a bunch of idiots dancing around on a plane to a song made famous by a band that died in a plane crash."
That screenplay deserved an Oscar nomination.
The Rock - so much unused potential
also My Big Fat Greek Wedding - somebody else could have done more with that script, at least the first half
the alamo...yes, i saw it

are you crazy? people wouldnt even consider doing that script... and nobody in their lives expected the kind of success it had... the movie was perfect as it was... that is why it was such a success and a once in a lifetime thing for nia vardalos
The House of the Spirits. also based on a good novel. Just a bad movie.

We're talking good casts in a bad movie, why do you say 'someone else would have done better with the script' :?
I have, in fact, seen "Here on Earth," and it belongs in this thread.
Michael Rooker, Annette O'Toole and Bruce Greenwood are wasted as the parental figures of the angst-ridden kids.
bonfire of the vanities
full frontal
Pay It Forward...

are you mad at me because i didn't respond on this question?
I've read this post, but then i didn't know how exactly to compose my answer, so i left it aside untill i figure it out. But, i completely forgot about it, sorry, my bad.
I still can't be more specific than this - i have a feeling, while watching this movie, that jokes and lines were delivered badly, like the director didn't have a sense of humor. Timing of the lines on some places is very bad, as if director directed a sitcom with recorded laugh, but the final version went out without that laugh, and in the end the audience was left with scenes that have awkward silence after funny places. This is more an impression, can't shape it different.
Quote from: mollylines were delivered badly
Wouldn't that mean that the cast wasn't all that good?

i think they were ok. I have an impression that the director thought it's an easy job, and that there is nothing to be careful about - a different angle, a different arrangement could have been better. The characters weren't persuasive, but that's not blame of the actors, but it's like director expected the audience to laugh every 2 minutes. In most of the good comedies, you giggle, not laugh.

WTF?! SPOILERS BEFORE THE SPOLER WARNING DAMMIT ALL TO HACK
i'm not going to lie, i thought the acting and directing were both amazing, but i thought the movie, all in all, wasnt good. i think i didnt like it because of the story of it, with the whole Tim Robbins child molestation thing and it was very predictable that:
*SPOILERS*
he didnt kill the girl and that he knew that people thought he did, so he tried to cover it up. but i'm not "shitting" on mystic river, i just think it's overrated and could have been a lot better, i dont know how, but yeah.
I think that you should abstract yourself from the story and realize what, for me, is one of the best aspects of the film, it's about: violent lives. I like that you don't get to see violent flashbacks of sean penns past (which I think a common director would try to insert in the film), but his ticks and his instinct excellently portray that person.

some ppl don't think about movies like that.
I suppose we can add Laws of Attraction to the list.
