An acquaintance of mine recently asked me to pass along some info to all the up-and-coming filmmakers here in the forum.

He's a musician, currently living in Belgium, and if I do say so myself, he's quite good. He's been a part of a few bands that have had some dance-club chart success, and today continues to work on a few projects at home in Brussels.

Anyway, he has a love for independent cinema, and has found it a bit difficult to plug in to the indie film scene there in Brussels (or lack thereof, I should say). As such, he's asked me to pass along to you guys this info about him, and let everyone here know that if they would like to work with someone on an original score for their features, that he'd love to talk with you. Right now he's doing some work in Final Cut Pro for an industrial film / music video company there in Brussels, but hasn't yet been able to break into any big-screen projects.

We've only met through e-mail, (I am a big fan of the band that he is best known for), but I figure that at the very least, one of you guys could make the same contact with him that I have, and maybe work on something together, collaborating via mail and internet.

He's sending me a CD next week of some of his sample scores, and he's offering to do the same for any indie filmmaker who might like to work with him. "For the love of the art" initially, at least. Can't beat that price!  :)

So anyway, if you guys are interested and need some really great original music for your features, let me know and I'll put you guys in touch with each other.

I am getting ready to shoot a "horror-thriller-inmates take over the asylum" sort of gig in a month or so, and would be very inetrested in talking to someone about an original score. If you wouldn't mind throwing me a bone, that'd be great.

Yes, I'm doing a short horror-type flick, and I'd love to hear some of his stuff...

Can you PM me with samples or anything?

Thanks, btw.
Those who say that the totalitarian state of the Soviet Union was not "real" Marxism also cannot admit that one simple feature of Marxism makes totalitarianism necessary:  the rejection of civil society. Since civil society is the sphere of private activity, its abolition and replacement by political society means that nothing private remains. That is already the essence of totalitarianism; and the moralistic practice of the trendy Left, which regards everything as political and sometimes reveals its hostility to free speech, does nothing to contradict this implication.

When those who hated capital and consumption (and Jews) in the 20th century murdered some hundred million people, and the poster children for the struggle against international capitalism and America are now fanatical Islamic terrorists, this puts recent enthusiasts in an awkward position. Most of them are too dense and shameless to appreciate it, and far too many are taken in by the moralistic and paternalistic rhetoric of the Left.

Nope. I only dream of my music being as cool as his.

He's not, by any chance, going to a music festival in Brussels next week called Rockwertcher - as I am - is he?

Also - I'm not making a movie, but I'd love to hear his stuff anyways: I'm a big fan of a lot of Belgian music. You should post some here regardless...
