HACKANUT

"ASTEROID CITY takes place in a fictional American desert town circa 1955. Synopsis: The itinerary of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention (organized to bring together students and parents from across the country for fellowship and scholarly competition) is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events.

ASTEROID CITY is only in theaters June 16th."

Fun trailer.  Eye candy all around.  Some dry humor, but nothing really giving anything away.  It's just so rich.

The colors on this one are so pleasing to look at. Just beautiful blues and oranges. Thrilled there's somehow aliens involved too.

Pastel desert iz brilliant. And 'french press' car? Cheeky.

WorldForgot

An exercise in juxtaposition. Wasteland livin', Earth against the void of space, dreamz surrounded by endless expanse. Dual seduction from the playwright, a play adapts itself in realtime. Laidback and earnest.

'You can't wake up if you don't fall asleep.'

Hallucination; welcoming flux, renouncing your grandparents religion in favor of the stars or witchcraft. 'She's not in the stars, she's in the ground.'

Anderson's 'late career' insistence on author presence makes me curious. Dreamerz phasing thru dreamerz phasing thru dreamerz phasing thru dreamerz phasing thru dreamerz.
