I saw Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring some time ago and really enjoyed it. I've wanted to see 3-Iron (Bin-jip) for a while -- it's in my Netflix queue. I was reading about Hwal (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0456470/) -- that's the one I want to know more about. For one, does anyone know the English translation of the title? The plot outline sounds really promising:
QuoteOn a fishing boat at sea, a 60-year old man has been raising a girl since she was a baby. It is agreed that they will get married on her 17th birthday, and she is 16 now. They live a quiet and secluded life, renting the boat to day fishermen and practicing strange divination rites. Their life changes when a teenage student comes aboard...
'The Bow' is the title you're asking for. I've been meaning to track it down, I'm an pretty big fan of his flicks.
'3-Iron' is really wonderful-- yes, the lack of dialogue spoken by the leads is a tad forced, but it works. And the ending is gangbusters, almost fable-like.
Highly recommend 'The Coast Guard' as well.
