stickypod (http://www.stickypod.com)
Anybody ever use one of these?  If so, can I really safely mount my XL-1 to the exterior of a car with this?

We're looking at this for 3/4 shots on driver and passenger, as a hood mount, and to turn a car into a high speed dolly for a couple of long landscape tracking shots.

What do you guys think?

I used something like that once with my XL-1, and even though it worked, I wouldn't really trust it with an XL-1 at high speeds, unattended. In all the photos on the Stickypod site, they're using smaller, lighter cameras. But I didn't read the tech specs, maybe it's sturdier than it appears?

The site claims that it won't have any problem with an XL-1.  It shows the mount holding 25 pound weights and such.  My worries are more with the stability and quality of the image.  Anyone with any firsthand experience with suction mounts in general?
