i overheard them talking about how PTA is a god and that they have been fans of his since " sydney" came out, i made a mental note of that , because it was so funny that they called it sydney , that was such a pretenious move to try and make them look like insiders . Then they started talking about boogie nights and they didnt remember our conversation, so i asked them what they think of the film, and they said they loved it and blah blah that after " sydney" they couldnt wait to see it and then i asked them what was the best part of the film and they said phill hoffman............typical
isnt it funny how all these fake artsy pretenious fuckers jumped on the pta bandwagon as soon as it was hip to do so . They have no idea why his films are great but they want you to think they are deep. Both of these people have e mail handles with radiohead song titles in them nuff said
these are the same people who got mad when he cast sandler in pdl
by the way he didnt cast him, he wrote it for him because he is a huge fan

pta said that because it was a personal small detail that meant a lot to him, we could never relate to that scene in the same way he does.

Two instances this occurred for me... one involving Wendys, the other involving Fox's 24. Let me first talk about 24.
I kept telling my good friend that it's a great show and that he needs to watch it. My friend tells me "hey faggot, thats a gay show ain't it?" (actually he didn't say that but it feels like he did). Now he's a huge fan because his other friends told him about it and said it was "chill". Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's a fan and we can talk about it every week, but why does he take his friends' recommendation and not mine? His friends are the same idiots who gathered around the room and cheered on 'Man vs. Beast' show. His friends think we never landed on the moon. His friends watch Kubayashi win all the eating competitions.

I remember Howard Stern talking about how he was interviewing Heather Graham (I think it was her) before Boogie Nights came out, and when she said she was working on a movie about the porn industry staring Marky Mark and Burt Reynolds, Howard was like, "well, good luck with that", thinking that there was no way the movie could be good.

Oh my god, it's obvious to me...the guy is pissed because they acted like they had been fans since the
beginning. It's totally cool to change your mind and smarten up and find your taste like they did...but when you act like that's how it's always been and tell people lies, it's not cool. People should admit that they were ignorant in the past. I know they often don't, but they should. Why not? It'll make you a better person to do that...why lie on top of being ignorant in the past? Tell the truth to make up for your mistake in the past.
bottom line:
they were through with the past...but their boogie nights, marky mark, chest and brock, for 'the christmas', gettin-what's-in-the-floor-safe, hi fi (high fidelity), no dancin' on sundays, awesome mixtape~hatin' past wasn't through with them.

alright i get what ur saying, but why waste your life worrying about ppl like that? they can't be helped. best thing to do is to try not to think about it. I think there is too much time spent discussing stupid stuff people say about movies instead of the good stuff. Why is the majority of our discussions center around what sucks, who sucks, what's stupid people think what sucks and why they suck for thinking that? there's only so much of the cynical movie-buff verbal masturbation thing one can take. we need a little more happiness up in here.
