Title: What adaptor do I need?
Post by: EL__SCORCHO on August 30, 2003, 07:35:22 PM
I have a regular old camcorder (not mini-dv).Do any of you guys know what I need to get in order to transfer the footage onto my computer? Is there a cable I need, a special adaptor? I'd really appreciate some help.

Your camera should have RCA-out jacks, so you'll need a video card with RCA inputs. When I was first getting started with nonlinear editing, I picked up an external RCA port at Best Buy for about two hundred bucks. Now that miniDV and firewire have become so prevalent, I'll bet you can get something like that for a whole lot less.
