Quote from: RaviSome people want the DTS track, but Columbia only offers them on Superbit titles.  But at least they did a good special edition instead of putting a trailer for Spiderman 2 and re-releasing the existing disc.
Oh I know what you mean (proud owner of Lawrence of Arabia Superbit) but I think the Superbit should've been released with the barebones edition. It kind of looks silly putting this beside the ultimate deluxe edition... but anyway, that's just me.

SHAFTR

I'd like a Super Special Edition of Adaptation, Blade Runner, Apocolypse Now and Bottle Rocket.

Anybody have any opinions on that movie? I remember watching almost half of the old "directors cut" on vhs (I don't think it was this long) when I was 18, but then I had to take it back to the video store. It seemed pretty interesting...
Those who say that the totalitarian state of the Soviet Union was not "real" Marxism also cannot admit that one simple feature of Marxism makes totalitarianism necessary:  the rejection of civil society. Since civil society is the sphere of private activity, its abolition and replacement by political society means that nothing private remains. That is already the essence of totalitarianism; and the moralistic practice of the trendy Left, which regards everything as political and sometimes reveals its hostility to free speech, does nothing to contradict this implication.

When those who hated capital and consumption (and Jews) in the 20th century murdered some hundred million people, and the poster children for the struggle against international capitalism and America are now fanatical Islamic terrorists, this puts recent enthusiasts in an awkward position. Most of them are too dense and shameless to appreciate it, and far too many are taken in by the moralistic and paternalistic rhetoric of the Left.

DreamWorks is tentatively planning a multi-disc Gladiator: Director's Cut DVD for 2005, which will include Ridley Scott's longer version of the film (many of the deleted scenes on the previous DVD release will be edited back into the film, and there will be new bonus material as well).

If it was cut from the original, why do we need a version with it?

To say, "now I understand why they made those cuts?"
