Two mega-aesthetic modalities synthesize here to create big popcorn bucks without any nuance. It's got great dancing and action! But the setting feels like emotional melodrama more than any real historical-political critique or statement.


The craft that went into this movie is truly staggering, but god, I hated it so much. It felt like an entire movie made of scenes a hyperactive 12-year-old doodled on the back of his notebook. Fundamentally not for me on any level.
