Rob Zombie goes PG! Adapting a series that has influenced his music and films from the onset. I'm sure there will be plenty of complaints about the 'look' but since this is just an announcement teaser and not clips from the film itself I will stay excited.   :yabbse-cool:

Me too ~

I can't imagine that somebody with as much love for the original series as Rob Zombie can flub it. However it goez, I'll have fun watching it, I bet.

I keep trying to put my finger on what's the most awkward bit of this trailer. Its audio mix feels like a first draft, very odd, as if they're off tempo from the final edit they used. Under this, I'm into the color design of the project, definitely calls back to the sharp hues in 'House of 1000 Corpses.' But just as awkward as the sound design iz the sort of empty feeling around the scenes. No extras and a lack of supporting cast presence in the scenes/takes they chose.

:ponder:

This movie was reported to have a 30-40 MILLION DOLLAR BUDGET. Where did that money go? I've seen student films with better production value. I can only assume this whole project was a massive money laundering scheme from the start.

Also, Rob Zombie is bad at comedy and should stop attempting it. What a mess. A train wreck of the highest order.

I DO want to see this... but this trailer is not promising. :yabbse-undecided:

Visually it looks like an episode of Goosebumps recorded "live with a studio audience". Sonically (everything WF already stated). Pretty rough.

I dig the look of the sets and characters tho.

QuoteRob Zombie's "The Munsters" reboot will be available for digital purchase and on Blu-Ray on Sept. 27. The premiere date was announced along with the release of a new "Munsters" trailer.

The film will be available on Netflix later in the year. Zombie had announced recently that the film would also head to Netflix, writing, "This fall we are gonna spook-out like it's 1964! Yep, THE MUNSTERS and THE ADDAMS FAMILY are returning to the boob tube at the same time courtesy of Netflix." The digital, Blu-Ray and DVD will include over an hour of Collector's Edition bonus content, including behind-the-scenes footage with Zombie and the cast and feature commentary by Zombie that takes viewers deep inside the haunted adventure.

Production shot on location in Budapest, Hungary, during the pandemic. The entire Mockingbird Lane neighborhood was constructed from scratch by production designer Juci Szurdi.

Since announcing the news last June, Zombie has teased audiences with behind-the-scenes insights into the sets, costumes and makeup of the anticipated film.

The costumes are designed by Tóth András Dániel and Godena-Juhász Attila.

Also making an appearing in the film is Cassandra Peterson, aka Elvira. Peterson plays Barbara Carr, a real estate agent. "Here I am playing this character that's so different from what I normally do. I'm playing a super straight character," Peterson revealed in a Variety interview.

Wait, so physical release first, skipping theaters, and then Netflix? Doesn't give me a lot of confidence in the quality of this thing.

Today most of my friends at work got laid off, in an unexpected torrent that was unfair to my exec producer/supervisor and confusing to all our team. Literally like 3 of us were spared, our entire animation department axed. It was a shit day. And this movie saved my sanity.

Rob Zombie's Ode to Joy ~ Took so many screenshots after the flick finished, just to savor the frames. The costumes and make-up are brill, gags popping out in the props.

It's a delight. From panicking about reality to having fun in the gleefulness of this goofy, music-loving, kind hearted, full of puns, and perfect for The Munsters. I'll definitely be buying the blu ray.

Yikes man I'm so sorry! Thankful for the magically-healing powers of a good flick. Just when you needed it.

Pleasantly surprised this impressed you so much! How was the audio? The trailer was literally unfinished right? Was that all fixed in your opinion?

For real, it was an escape when I needed it. Sound mix has mostly been shored up! But I won't say it's not jank, I listened on headphones not on a 5.1 channel. And on headphones sometimes the dialogue is a bit low, but it wasn't as distracting poorly mixed as in the trailer. And there's a bunch of goofy sound effects & stings that I dont think were finished when the trailer came out.

What shines through in the movie most is the love and attention put into every scene. Lovingly designed. It's got way more beats and characters than the trailer would have you expect.

@polkablues
Dunno where you heard that enormous number (when watching the film it's clear this probably was like 1-2 million at most lol).
But Zombo has some words:

When the trailer came out I googled "Rob Zombie Munsters budget" and the top results were all trade publication articles reporting that as the budget. No idea who was putting that information out there, but it was widespread.

Ahh, word ~ Just seemz so bizarre. Especially considering the IP in question and how low budget 31 and 3 From Hell were, a bit confounding.
