yeah, i have to agree with cecil. this place really has its ups and downs and its sertanly not an up period right now but at least it's better than that 'i-hate-my-friends-and-normal-people-are-so-fuckin-stupid' era.

anyway, it's not sphinx, he wasn't that active anyway.. yes it's probably more AlguienEstolami, and not only the lack of good posters but the increase of mediocre members. i mean, i warned u fuckos that the list and poll thing would only kill this place. and looky what's happened.
there's just not enuff wit and/or originality. and there was at one point,. i would say whatever the essence of this board was, it's almost dead now.
i commend duck sauce and cecil and other ppl who would in previous years be to blame for such a deadening, but they're really good peops now for the most part, and even mesh and markums2k are good when they stop hating everything. good taste and personality is what's lacking. and if it's here it has been allowed to suffocate under lame meaningless boring shit. i can say i've done my best to keep that from happening.
anyway, this isn't the first or worst slump, it'll pick up when ppl (eg. me, mbk) are less busy.

u also got to remember that its summer, and ppl r usually busy traveling or working or attending fiestas. i think during the fall, what with all the much anticipated movies coming out, the board will pick up for the better. my favorite time around here if i remember correctly is the fall/winter, especially the christmas.

Yeah, well, I filled MacGuffin's "Movie Titles That Describe You" thread with what I thought was a bunch of funny, witty stuff that played around with his original idea. He took it personally and apparently deleted all my posts in the thread.....

I love these message boards because they're a great place to go to when I feel like talking about movies, which is all the time. I think all the crappy posts and lists and polls will slide down the drain, and the good ones keep rising back to the surface. There may be a surplus of crap from time to time, but that's just because some people must be feeling bored. I don't think anything's any worse off than before...just a bit of a lull at the moment. Wait till October, if you must, but things will be hoppin' again soon.
So basically, let's not bitch about it, because this site is still the best thing all of us film geeks have going for us online (as far as conversating goes)!
If this place is nothing compared to how it used to be, i'm scared to find out how it used to be!!! for my part, i try to insert wit when i can... sometimes throwing in one liners or references to references... but that's just the woody allen in me. i can't write long witty posts... its like pulling teeth.
has anyone considered having a group meeting (or maybe meeting(s)? I know some people live in L.A., some in Canada, some in god knows where else... i don't know... maybe i'm off base here... i used to belong to a BBS back in the day, and every sunday they'd meet at a Denny's and get piss drunk... I was 18 or 19 and just watch them, then go back home, go online, and be like "yeah, so and so is still at Denny's consuming his liver"...
