I'm desperately seeking any movies dealing with/relating to compulsive liars.  If anyone knows any movies with characters who suffer from this, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.  Thanks. :)

I appreicate that Mog, but someone already made a film out of that.  It's called Boogie Nights.

I guess I'm just crazy or stupid, but I can't believe no one's ever made a movie about a compulsive liar (besides that stupid Jim Carrey flick).   It seems to me that it could be compelling, given the right treatment.  Oh well.

Well, it' just not what I had in mind.  Thank you though.  Something more along the lines of a "normal" person, less Scorsese, more Egan.  I know, crazy or stupid.  Whatever.

I know Mogwai.  And it's really compelling shit, don't get me wrong.  But he lied out of necessity.  I'm talking about deceit as a hubris, as something that someone does and it defies all logic and doesn't really serve him at all, but gets him in a shitload of trouble.

How about any movie with adultery in it? Those movies are bound to have compulsive liars in them.

How about The Player, Wallstreet, and Other People's Money? Hollywood looks at pretty much all business people as compulsive liars. Check these movies out for compulsive liars that make big bucks in the process.

Those who say that the totalitarian state of the Soviet Union was not "real" Marxism also cannot admit that one simple feature of Marxism makes totalitarianism necessary:  the rejection of civil society. Since civil society is the sphere of private activity, its abolition and replacement by political society means that nothing private remains. That is already the essence of totalitarianism; and the moralistic practice of the trendy Left, which regards everything as political and sometimes reveals its hostility to free speech, does nothing to contradict this implication.

When those who hated capital and consumption (and Jews) in the 20th century murdered some hundred million people, and the poster children for the struggle against international capitalism and America are now fanatical Islamic terrorists, this puts recent enthusiasts in an awkward position. Most of them are too dense and shameless to appreciate it, and far too many are taken in by the moralistic and paternalistic rhetoric of the Left.
