Best Cinematography: BLACK SWAN (Matthew Libatique)

THE NOMINEES

Black Swan
Enter the Void
Inception
The Social Network
True Grit
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

This could have easily been a tie. Really, is top notch work in all of these films. But there's no visual experience like Enter the Void. Is there an American Cinematographer article on that film?

I'm really bummed Enter the Void didn't win anything. It deserved at least a technical award. This I can deal with because Libatique pretty much delivered here. It's deserving and I can't really hate on this one.
Falling in love is the greatest joy in life. Followed closely by sneaking into a gated community late at night and firing a gun into the air.

It fell only one vote short in this category, and was tied for second place for best film.  I'm disappointed that it didn't win anything, but I'm happy we gave it the love that we did.
