Title: PTA PDL Q&A
Post by: Tictacbk on June 18, 2003, 05:52:04 PM
For all you unlucky souls who won't get to go see PTA at the PDL screening, I thought i'd give you a chance to post what you would ask PTA.

Maybe a few of us lucky ones will ask him for you.

Oh, I don't know about that man. I mean, won't he get pissed? I know Quentin Tarantino does a lot. When he's asked something like this by a fan. Not that I don't want to know about the next project, I would love to. Even though I kind of like knowing absolutely nothing about it now...just cause there's so much that can happen.

You know, I would dare somebody to ask him about the frogs. It might actually be a great set up. See, somebody should do that first...ask the frog question...and THEN have somebody ask him about his next project. He'll get all his frustration and anger out with the frog question then he'll be calm for the next project question.

If you don't feel comfortable asking about any future projects, then maybe try asking about which actors/actresses he would like to work with in the furture? Or who has caught his eye lately? Also, ask about what he thinks of the current state of cinema? those are always interesting questions..[/list]

Can you ask him why he made the choice to shoot Barry in his apartment that certain way... not the camera bump, but the shot where Barry sits down, and the camera re-frames to put him on extreme frame right. Like a security camera movement, almost. I think he does it twice, and I always wondered why, what was his reasoning behind it...?

I think asking him what his next project is would be a bad idea.  The frog question is good, although I think he's explained that enough in other interviews....

I'd like to know if he's ever going to use Fiona in any of his films...or her music...

I would also ask if those rumors about PDL's scrapped sci-fi alien thread were true....but that could be dangerous too.

If there was a commentary track, it would defeat the purpose of it being Superbit because it would take up disc space, losing the best picture and sound quality possible.

Ah right superbit...i guess it is nice giving the movie its own cd to itself...i still love commentary.  Boogie Nights definetly has some of the best commentary out there.

bullshit. they could have scrapped the stereo track and added the commentary. also, there are superbits out there that are much longer than 90 mins (adaptation, fifth element, panic room, etc...) meaning they have smaller bitrates. pta didn't want a commentary track, it was completely his decision. don't make excuses when there needn't be.

I've always thought that it was to show the empty table and empty chair on the other side of the table, to show how lonely he is in this desperately lonely and vulnerable moment of his life.

But still ask him, because that may not be accurate.

You know, for some reason I was thinking about this question over lunch today. I think a cool question would be to ask him about something completely non work or business or "star" related...

Like, I wonder what he likes to do in his spare time. What his hobbies might be. Not "writing" or "smoking"... You know, what does he enjoy doing other than the obvious?

Like Les Claypool of Primus is a big fisherman. Mark Motherbaugh of Devo likes to paint and draw. Pubrick enjoys making little paper dolls, and Sphinx is a kick ass ballroom dancer.

I wonder if Paul enjoys wetting a hook, or working out, or playing drums. You know he's got to enjoy lots of the same shit that average schmucks like us enjoy.

well going to the moon is a big adventurous frontier, a new step for humanity. barry finding a true love is similar to us going to the moon; it's a very new thing for him and an adventure that will open his eyes up to the world and himself.

I don't know, that's my take. I guess it's not obvious, and it probably doesn't make much sense. I had such little confidence when writing that first paragraph that I didn't capitalize any of the words.

MALIBU, Calif. - Adam Sandler married model-actress Jackie Titone in an outdoor ceremony that was attended by celebrity friends and his pet bulldog dressed in a custom tuxedo.

"Sandler got married," the comic's Web site said. "Woopity Doo!" No other details were immediately available.

Calls to Sandler's publicist, Cindy Guagenti, weren't immediately returned Sunday night.

Photographs of Sunday's nuptials showed "The Wedding Singer" star in a black tuxedo and white yarmulke, and Titone in a white gown with spaghetti straps, standing among hanging pale rose bouquets and chairs draped with pink satin. (See here. (http://www.adamsandler.com/))

Sandler's dog, Meatball, appears in one photo wearing a black tuxedo jacket and a white yarmulke of his own.

It was the first marriage for Sandler, 36, and Titone, 28.

Titone has appeared in Sandler's movies, including as a waitress in "Big Daddy" and an angel in "Little Nicky."

ask him when he realized that he was falling in love with movies
ask him why he is a filmmaker
and finally
say to him that everything he does is magic!

Then ask him how many times he has been asked those questions and if he thinks they are horrible or just bad

That's the reason why you will never talk with PTA man
