For all you unlucky souls who won't get to go see PTA at the PDL screening, I thought i'd give you a chance to post what you would ask PTA.
Maybe a few of us lucky ones will ask him for you.
Anything related to his next project.
Ask him why the Colonel isn't on the Boogie Nights poster
I second that 'next project' question.
Quote from: FernandoAnything related to his next project.
Oh, I don't know about that man. I mean, won't he get pissed? I know Quentin Tarantino does a lot. When he's asked something like this by a fan. Not that I don't want to know about the next project, I would love to. Even though I kind of like knowing absolutely nothing about it now...just cause there's so much that can happen.
You know, I would dare somebody to ask him about the frogs. It might actually be a great set up. See, somebody should do that first...ask the frog question...and THEN have somebody ask him about his next project. He'll get all his frustration and anger out with the frog question then he'll be calm for the next project question.
Ask "Why does Atticus Jones"?
ask him who has a bigger cock - dirk diggler, or frank mackey - ill be there though, so maybe ill ask him that
Ask him how many times he's been asked "Why Adam Sandler?"
Ask him to release his shorts and videos on a DVD
ask him how hot and heavy he and fiona are going.
If you don't feel comfortable asking about any future projects, then maybe try asking about which actors/actresses he would like to work with in the furture? Or who has caught his eye lately? Also, ask about what he thinks of the current state of cinema? those are always interesting questions..[/list]
ask him: "i don't hav a question for u cos there's really nothing i want to know that u havn't already said in countless interviews but can u just acknowledge that i exist and.. can i hold ur hand?"
Quote from: Duck SauceAsk him to release his shorts and videos on a DVD
Geez, if you're gonna get personal, just ask him for his shorts AND his shirt too!
Cheesy joke o' the day.
Can you ask him why he made the choice to shoot Barry in his apartment that certain way... not the camera bump, but the shot where Barry sits down, and the camera re-frames to put him on extreme frame right. Like a security camera movement, almost. I think he does it twice, and I always wondered why, what was his reasoning behind it...?
Quote from: Pask him: "i don't hav a question for u cos there's really nothing i want to know that u havn't already said in countless interviews but can u just acknowledge that i exist and.. can i hold ur hand?"
I think asking him what his next project is would be a bad idea. The frog question is good, although I think he's explained that enough in other interviews....
I'd like to know if he's ever going to use Fiona in any of his films...or her music...
I would also ask if those rumors about PDL's scrapped sci-fi alien thread were true....but that could be dangerous too.
Ask him how tall he is. I am dying to know.
i wanna know why there isn't directors commentary on the PDL dvd...but i donno if i'll ask him that.
Quote from: Tictacbki wanna know why there isn't directors commentary on the PDL dvd...but i donno if i'll ask him that.
If there was a commentary track, it would defeat the purpose of it being Superbit because it would take up disc space, losing the best picture and sound quality possible.

u did quote that EXTRA big, i totally agree with u and echo what ur saying, it would be..
what more could he say, from the
TWO boogie and Hard Eight commentaries.
also, i appreciate the new quality. ekzellent, indeed.

that's actually a decent question to ask 'what are you up to now' or something,
but don't phrase it in such a way that he could give you an ambigious answer

Ah right superbit...i guess it is nice giving the movie its own cd to itself...i still love commentary. Boogie Nights definetly has some of the best commentary out there.
Quote from: sexterossaask him how hot and heavy he and fiona are going.
well, heavy anyway...

dont ask him anything. just shake his hand and say 'thanks.' that's what I did. He smiled and said 'you're welcome.'
and that was that.
Ask him if he's soured a bit on Magnolia...cos it seems he has. No, wait, don't. Ask him his thoughts on the Psycho remake. That's a good one.

bullshit. they could have scrapped the stereo track and added the commentary. also, there are superbits out there that are much longer than 90 mins (adaptation, fifth element, panic room, etc...) meaning they have smaller bitrates. pta didn't want a commentary track, it was completely his decision. don't make excuses when there needn't be.

I've always thought that it was to show the empty table and empty chair on the other side of the table, to show how lonely he is in this desperately lonely and vulnerable moment of his life.
But still ask him, because that may not be accurate.

Hey shut up
*that came off kind of sour. didnt mean to sound like a sour puss
The reason he didn't do a commentary is because if he had, then there wouldn't be anything for internet losers like us to bitch about.
He left it out because he loves us.

taz, you misunderstood. I'm not saying that that was PTA's 'excuse' (remember, even the bare bones edition wasn't planned as Superbit). I was simply saying that if there was a commentary track, it wouldn't be Superbit.
you think if he has ever come on this site he's read our comments and gotten really freaked out?
oh and by the way, i was told that the Q and A time is going to be kept to a minimum. im guessin hes gonna stick around for a little afterwards, at least i hope cuz i want him to sign my PDL dvd and possibly get a picture with him.
i wonder if something like that would freak him out.......
Quote from: XixaxAsk "Why does Atticus Jones"?
See, but (like me) I doubt that anybody attending (except perhaps PTA) will completely understand the question. Not that I've been secretly yearning to read the entire text of peace out or anything...

oh, i see. superbit must suck. if it's the same bitrate AND has a commentary track, it's not superbit because it has a special feature on the disc... this superbit crap is baloney.

Finally........
an appropriate question to ask PTA..!!
Can you imagine? Can you?
He would think the question was sooooo cute..!!
Then he would bash your head in with a sledge hammer.
its like that comedy central show mr. glick or whatever his name is. ive never seen the show, only the commercials for it which are pretty funny. (when he asks mel brooks "what's ur beef w/ the nazis?" hahah.) so yea, ask pta "hey paul, man, what do u got against child molesters?"
When you guys ask him questions refer to PTA in the third person
im gonna ask him to sign my tits.
You know, for some reason I was thinking about this question over lunch today. I think a cool question would be to ask him about something completely non work or business or "star" related...
Like, I wonder what he likes to do in his spare time. What his hobbies might be. Not "writing" or "smoking"... You know, what does he enjoy doing other than the obvious?
Like Les Claypool of Primus is a big fisherman. Mark Motherbaugh of Devo likes to paint and draw. Pubrick enjoys making little paper dolls, and Sphinx is a kick ass ballroom dancer.
I wonder if Paul enjoys wetting a hook, or working out, or playing drums. You know he's got to enjoy lots of the same shit that average schmucks like us enjoy.

yeah, that's what i think (to emphasize loneliness). that shot kinda makes me think of the shot in Taxi Driver, when he's at the phone and the camera pans to the hallway with people walking by.
Quote from: Xixaxor working out.
that would go perfect with his smoking habbit
Quote from: The Silver BulletI am well aware of that.

and you are who ?
the sandman's wedding is coming up soon (before the end of the month), i'm pretty sure pta will probably be going to that dig in addition to all these screenings...he must be pretty busy these days
Quoteand you are who ?
Not you, thank Christ.
you're welcome. now never speaketh to me again.
we need to make a list of who can reply to whos posts and who can speak to who.
Make the list in tiny tiny letters that are hidden to no one, but only a nuisance to copy and paste

if ur online u can just quote the text.
oh, i got a good ?
ask him about the original ending to PDL that was cut from the script
&'
ask him about the significance of (if any) eighteen wheelers in his films
or
why moon footage on all the tv's in PDL
Quote from: bigideaswhy moon footage on all the tv's in PDL
isn't this a pretty obvious metaphor? hey though, i'm not pretending to be a genius or literature professor, but c'mon, don't take me for a scum bag.

are you talking about the whole Lena is an alien thing?
if not, enlighten me o great one with superior knowledge
well going to the moon is a big adventurous frontier, a new step for humanity. barry finding a true love is similar to us going to the moon; it's a very new thing for him and an adventure that will open his eyes up to the world and himself.
I don't know, that's my take. I guess it's not obvious, and it probably doesn't make much sense. I had such little confidence when writing that first paragraph that I didn't capitalize any of the words.
that could be a possibility, but it's also on the tv for the phone sex ladies.
but still, would it not be an interesting question to ask Mr. Anderson?
i'll ask him if he thinks the moon landing was a hoax.
Quote from: bonanzatazthe moon landing was a hoax.
haha
that's funny, with Buzz punching that guy.
Anyway, the different tvs showing the same moon landing was interesting.
I mean, it's not like this was happening in the 60's.
I wonder if the PTA was doing a sort of "Wise Up" thing with this. ( ? )
did anyone see "an evening with kevin smith" where one guy asks Smith if he could suck his dick? hahaha what a strange guy.
who, smith? did he say yes?

MALIBU, Calif. - Adam Sandler married model-actress Jackie Titone in an outdoor ceremony that was attended by celebrity friends and his pet bulldog dressed in a custom tuxedo.
"Sandler got married," the comic's Web site said. "Woopity Doo!" No other details were immediately available.
Calls to Sandler's publicist, Cindy Guagenti, weren't immediately returned Sunday night.
Photographs of Sunday's nuptials showed "The Wedding Singer" star in a black tuxedo and white yarmulke, and Titone in a white gown with spaghetti straps, standing among hanging pale rose bouquets and chairs draped with pink satin. (See here. (http://www.adamsandler.com/))
Sandler's dog, Meatball, appears in one photo wearing a black tuxedo jacket and a white yarmulke of his own.
It was the first marriage for Sandler, 36, and Titone, 28.
Titone has appeared in Sandler's movies, including as a waitress in "Big Daddy" and an angel in "Little Nicky."
Whoa, the Wedding Singer himself got married! Congratulations to the Sandman! I don't know if PTA attended but celebs like Dustin Hoffman and Sharon Osbourne and past co-stars such as Jack Nicholson, Winona Ryder, Quentin Tarantino, Rob Schneider etc. went to the secret but large-scale wedding.
I'm just going to tell him I'm his bitch I think. Questions are too hard to think of.

ask him when he realized that he was falling in love with movies
ask him why he is a filmmaker
and finally
say to him that everything he does is magic!
