Huge PTA fan.
Strange question.

Does anyone know what his salary is, or if he has a deal on the percentage and royalties of his pictures? I'm sure he has a pretty good deal, or if not he should.
Boogie Nights was his biggest hit and even though he hasn't had a sonic boom like Tarantino he's the type of filmmaker that will always generate money through his oeuvre.
He also strikes me as an auteur that can have healthy box office success while making edgier films with an artistic sophistication than the regarded mainstream ones. This characteristic is very Kubrickian. He's always said he wants to reach as many people as possible. Kubrick also made similar statements. On the other hand someone like Harmony Korine is somewhat repelled by commercial success.

A little off the subject but still related Mel Gibson's The Passion is gonna make a shit load. Don't you think?

Oddly enough, I too would like to know PTA's fee for writing/directing...

Welcome to the board, btw.
Those who say that the totalitarian state of the Soviet Union was not "real" Marxism also cannot admit that one simple feature of Marxism makes totalitarianism necessary:  the rejection of civil society. Since civil society is the sphere of private activity, its abolition and replacement by political society means that nothing private remains. That is already the essence of totalitarianism; and the moralistic practice of the trendy Left, which regards everything as political and sometimes reveals its hostility to free speech, does nothing to contradict this implication.

When those who hated capital and consumption (and Jews) in the 20th century murdered some hundred million people, and the poster children for the struggle against international capitalism and America are now fanatical Islamic terrorists, this puts recent enthusiasts in an awkward position. Most of them are too dense and shameless to appreciate it, and far too many are taken in by the moralistic and paternalistic rhetoric of the Left.

Isn't there a thread on how PTA has no money and is a bum?

Duck Sauce

He drives that Mercedes SUV, but that could have easily been stolen.

btw, on XIXAX, EVERYTHING is Kubrickian

Well I dont know the exact fee... but the fact that he gets really involved in his projects makes him a participant in the producers net... so he does make money if the movie makes money... and his base salary is probably around 2 million now... it was almost nothing when he did Boogie Nights but then he made some money of the movie gross

QuoteBoogie Nights in New Pad

After the critical and commercial success of his movie "Boogie Nights" screenwriter and director Paul Thomas Anderson and Grammy-winning girlfriend Fiona Apple have purchased the Los Feliz home of actor Jason Priestley for about $1.9 million. The Spanish-style, four- bedroom, 3,800 square foot home was built in 1930 and has been recently renovated and includes a screening room, gymnasium, steam room, wine cellar and swimming pool.

Anderson is directing Apple in a video of her remake of the "Across the Universe" by Paul McCartney and John Lennon.
