Don't you know the Special Edition is "Coming Soon" (according the 2004 Directors Label DVDs)?

Anybody else watched this yet?  It's actually an interesting experience to compare and contrast the two versions.  The ending of this version, for example, is infinitely better, but the inclusion of Kris Kristofferson as the head bad guy in the theatrical version was much better than the Charlie's Angels-style voice on a speakerphone in the director's cut.  Plus, they kill the dog in this one.  Paramount didn't want to kill the dog, because they had no balls.

I do miss the blueness, though.

You'll like this version, then.  It makes you want to cut yourself the old-fashioned way.  It earns it.

Thanks, Netflix!
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.
