Joe Strummer's posthumous last album "Streetcore" is due out this October, with a cover of Bob Marley's "Redemption Song". I dig it. :(

Urgh, I hate it when people do cover songs and try to better them. It's annoying........and especially Bob! How can anyone better Bob Marley?

Ditto on that. Most reggae in general can't compare to the lyrical/musical prophecy of Bob's talent. Not even Lee "Scratch" Perry, Peter Tosh's solo, or Steel Pulse. I own one album by each of them and it just isn't the same.

How many new songs are on this new release of Strummer's work? And is it solo stuff or what?

I fully agree. :oops: Seriously. It's much worse than not knowing who Sid Vicious is, or something. He's as important and legendary in his own way as Bob Marley (who I'm not interested in on a musical level, frankly).
