Considering how long we as humans have been listening to music, I am wondering what the most popular song in history might be? In this case I'm asking in terms of recorded music, but another question I might ask is what is the single most recognizable melody or tempo since we've adapted our ability to interpret sounds?
In American History, perhaps one of the most popular tunes ever is the Happy Birthday song , but who knows? Well, since I'm proposing this question on this site, my assumption is that perhaps one of you does.
"YEA" Usher featuring Lil' John.
They've been listening to that since the Baroque Era.
they play that at barbeques here too. It is popular. good choice.
Did you know that the Birthday Theme is copyrighted?
You could always just do the "Birthday Song" that was sung for Mini-Movies in Upright Citizen's Brigade...
I love it when pretentious threads are saved by xixaxers.
Wasn't it written by astronauts?

LOL
And the Question went into XIXAX history- UNANSWERED.
Also I'm beginning to think that PRETENTIOUS just means your too lazy to think about it.
the two most played songs on radio are "stairway to heaven" and "November Rain" but i guess it depends on if you mean total amount of times a song has played, or the total amount of time people have been listening to the song. in the case of these two songs they might have played as much as other greatest hits, but since they're so long in length they've had more airtime.

Who remembers that fucking Bryan Adams song from Robin Hood?
"Everything I do.. I do it for you.."

Who thinks there is still potential for new sounds to Rock and Shock the world? ( although judging by macguffin's guesses, if they are right, seem to be pretty dull. )
i went on "it's a small world" ride at Disneyland on acid once.
it was the single most frightening experience of my life. i don't know why i thought it would be fun to trip at Disneyland.
I would trip at Disneyland RIGHT NOW if given the oppurtunity. . .
But thanks for the heads up.

seriously man, don't do it. go to Magic Mountain instead.
Not with those Thorns at the bottom of the Waterfall !!! Hell No. My ass would stay in TomorrowLand. The Alien Encounter show would surely be avoided as well. And the Animal Kingdom might be a great place if Acid is at all similar to mushrooms, because when I trip on mushrooms I feel very at touch with nature, and the world, really.
But lets not make this a Thread about DisneyLand, OR drugs, for that matter.
Continuing the Discussion ( if those even exist here )
Regardless of Artistic intent with sounds,
What is the single most recognizable sound to humans?
Is it our mother's voice? or a loud crash? or maybe a fart?
Hehe. Fart.

What is the single most recognizable sound to humans?
a phone ringing.
Yeah right
I think Farting might really be the most universal noise known to mankind, since an anus has the same design wherever you go, it will indefinately make the same noise, however the smell will vary depending on what country you are in ( Mexico, China, you get the deal ) and In the city Of San Francisco, farts are apparently not the most universal noise, since they instead take on the light wispy sound of the wind. The most commonly recognized sound in that city, is of course, The queer eye theme song.
" Since you, came into my life
I tell you the world never looked so Bright
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
You
You wanna have sex with me
Cuz I'm queer
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah ( blonde guy: Get 'em Girls! ) "

What is the single most recognizable sound to humans?
a tequila claxon.
I hate farts and fart talk.
I'd say that song people always play on a drum at different sports games.
"dam-dam-damdamdam-damdamdamdam-damdam!"
Is that let's go?
Quote from: JaruebiIs that let's go?
yep! I just call it the "dam-dam-damdamdam-damdamdamdam-damdam!"-song.
