I can't believe she won. Why didn't Nelly and Arvil Lavigne clean house last night?!!?

This certainly isn't the Grammy's I know. They're starting to give them to deserving people now. What the hell is that?

Big fan of Norah's here (as I wait for Fiona's 3rd album to hit.....damn slacker   )....I was shocked she won so many...but what was the alternative?  Avril?

It sucked to see Bruce do his song and then loose to Jesse Harris for record of the year a la Metallica / Jethro Tull, but the did the same to 'Em as well...standing on stage, and..woops, you lose.

The Simon and Garfunkel "Sound of Silence" was beautiful (although they can't sing it like they used to), and the Clash tribute of London Calling w/ Bruce, Van Zandt, Dave Grohl, Elvis Costello and the No Doubt rythmn section ROCKED!  (As you can see, The Strokes are boring pozzzers.)  Even Coldplay's performance was good....I may check them out live sumday.

Norah won because she has a beautiful voice, she has a great song writing team and musicans behind her, she has a good stage presense (although she was nervous as hell when she perfomed, and almost sang the first phrase twice before catching herself), and because she can actually play her piano.  Hopefully she'll be able to kick the "best new artist" jinx.

I'm so glad there weren't any political statements to speak of....perhaps if Bruce had won during the televised show he could have said something meaningful.

This show is millions of light years worse than the oscars will ever be. It's impossible to determine "best music".

I guess that's true for movies, but movies have a standard. Music is allowed to break boundaries.

this is the way the grammy's always are....one artist sweeps a bunch of awards, sometimes deservedly, sometimes not, and than a few artists that aren't worth spitting at take the rest....would've liked to have seen David Gray's "A New Day at Midnight" to at least been nominated....best pop vocalist perhaps.

Uh, the Grammys are a piece of shit. End of story.

Epilogue: Good that Norah was recognized. Good that people will remember her name. Bad that it had to be at the Grammys.

Nora Jones is a good singer, but I seriously hate her radio song... it's been played for so fucking long that it makes me want to vomit.

And the words are fucking ridiculous... it won be songwriter, but I guess they don't take into account the actual lyrics.

"my heart is drenched in wine"
" I left you at the house of fun"?

I'm guessing the dude that wrote that song couldn't come because his dick went limp due to retardation.
