Oh, thank you.
Those seem to get the most positive attention with most people.
We often went to the cinema, the screen would light up and we would tremble, but also, increasingly often, Madeleine and I were disappointed. The images had dated, they jittered, and Marilyn Monroe had gotten terribly old. We were sad, this wasn't the film we had dreamed of, this wasn't the total film that we all carried around inside us, this film that we would have wanted to make, or, more secretly, no doubt, that we would have wanted to live.

A brief interlude of images black&white, whilst we wait for a larger update consisting of the New Color Project.

Enjoy, or something.

Well, this one's for you:

Whilst on a trip to Savannah this summer past, I found myself taking a number of images of the trashcans that littered the alleys and streets of the city. At the time, I'd no explanation for this sudden fascination, except for feeling a strong sense of urgency, humor, and inspiration. Not knowing what to do with them, I left those images alone, and soon forgot I'd taken them at all. I've recently come across them again and in viewing them together realised what kind of inspiration had struck months before. It's funny how you can identify with inanimate objects, and even go so far as to personify them. I call the following four images "The Community."

"Sharing the Load"

"Gossip"

"Waiting for the Bus"

"Hoodlums"
We often went to the cinema, the screen would light up and we would tremble, but also, increasingly often, Madeleine and I were disappointed. The images had dated, they jittered, and Marilyn Monroe had gotten terribly old. We were sad, this wasn't the film we had dreamed of, this wasn't the total film that we all carried around inside us, this film that we would have wanted to make, or, more secretly, no doubt, that we would have wanted to live.
