no. apes (which includes gorillas) and monkeys are both anthropoids, but they're not the same - monkeys hav tails, cannot swing from tree to tree (because of their shoulder bones), and hav similar sketal structure to a dog or cat. gorillas hav the same basic body structure as human beings, are able to swing branch to branch, posess a greater intelligence.
