question: the three leads from 21 grams.  leading? or supporting?
watts, del toro, penn

question: the three leads from mystic river. leading or supporting?
bacon, robbins, penn

that seems like a stupid question huh?
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

Let's call them all leads. Definitely.

It may split the vote, but it's only fair, based on the roles' strength/prominence.

Natalie Portman in "Cold Mountain" would be supporting. I think that's the scale we're looking for. Our definition of "leading" may be a little more expansive than usual...

It is a debut film, because it's a first full-length feature. It's eligible for Best Film and Best Debut, but I'm guessing it would be better placed under Best Film.

Best Debut is more like "it's not the best film of the year, but it's really good for a debut"...

MacGuffin says:

"Irreversible" is since it came out in the US in 2003.
"Dogville" has yet to come on in the US and has only done the festival circuit, so I'd say no. Also most members here have yet to see it.
"Spellbound" is a toss up. It was nominated for the Oscars held in 2003, but I don't think it got a release until 2003.

Let's say Spellbound is elligible, because according to imdb, its first non-festival limited release was in April 2003 (New York).

Best DVD is of all DVD's of all time, right?

is Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind eligible, considering imdb lists the release date as a limited Dec 31, 2002 (and a 2003 release for Canada)???
Those who say that the totalitarian state of the Soviet Union was not "real" Marxism also cannot admit that one simple feature of Marxism makes totalitarianism necessary:  the rejection of civil society. Since civil society is the sphere of private activity, its abolition and replacement by political society means that nothing private remains. That is already the essence of totalitarianism; and the moralistic practice of the trendy Left, which regards everything as political and sometimes reveals its hostility to free speech, does nothing to contradict this implication.

When those who hated capital and consumption (and Jews) in the 20th century murdered some hundred million people, and the poster children for the struggle against international capitalism and America are now fanatical Islamic terrorists, this puts recent enthusiasts in an awkward position. Most of them are too dense and shameless to appreciate it, and far too many are taken in by the moralistic and paternalistic rhetoric of the Left.

No. It won the Xixax Award for Best Debut Film last year.
