I'm sensing a redirect.
Let's go to a motel. We don't have to do anything -- we could just swim.

Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

it's kind of sad that neither ronaldinho, ribery or cannavaro aren't in the world cup.

Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu Lines Up True Crime Pic 'Flim-Flam Man: The True Story Of My Father's Counterfeit Life'
Source: Playlist

It has been a while since we've heard anything from director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. His last effort was "Biutiful," the tough drama that earned two Oscar nominations for Best Foreign Film and Best Actor for Javier Bardem. Last summer, momentum seemed to be building around the period vengeance tale "The Revenant," with weighty names like Sean Penn and Leonardo DiCaprio kicking the tires on the project in the fall. But news went quiet again, and it seems the director is putting his attention else where for the moment.

Variety reports that "The Revenant" will move to the backburner, as New Regency is now backing an adaptation of Jennifer Vogel's memoir "Flim-Flan Man: The True Story Of My Father's Counterfeit Life," that Inarritu will make his next film. The script, penned by Jez Butterworth ("Fair Game") will tell the story of the author's father, an armed robber, arsonist and counterfeiter, who did it all to have the finer things life, but also battled drinking and drug use. Vogel was one of three children, but had the closest relationship with her father, who let her see into his darker world he kept from everyone else.

Sounds like some good material, and with 20th Century Fox on board, it will likely attract some interesting talent. No word yet on when it will lens, but here's hoping Inarritu gets back behind the camera soon.

Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, Zach Galifianakis, Michael Keaton to Star in 'Birdman' (Exclusive)
Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's dark comedy piece follows a former actor as he mounts a Broadway play based on a Raymond Carver short story.

Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts and Zach Galifianakis will star in Birdman, Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu’s latest project that is being made by Fox Searchlight and New Regency.

As opposed to Gonzalez Inarritu's usual soul-searing dramas, Birdman is a dark comedy that follows a former actor, who once played an iconic superhero, as he mounts a Broadway play based on a Raymond Carver short story in a bid to reclaim past glory. However, the play’s egotistical leading man threatens to throw everything down the tubes.

Keaton, who played Batman in the 1989 and 1992 Tim Burton movies, is the comic book movie star trying to regain his credibility.

Stone will play Keaton’s daughter, fresh from rehab and now his assistant. Watts will be an actress in the play, while Galifianakis will play the production's conniving producer.

The other main parts to be cast include the play’s leading man and the ex-wife.

Gonzalez Inarritu co-wrote the script with Nicolas Giacobone, Alexander Dinelaris and Armando Bo. He is producing with Robert Graf and John Lesher.

An early April production start is being eyed.

Stone is shooting The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and is attached to star in Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak. Watts, who worked with Gonzalez Inarritu on 2003's 21 Grams, is coming off an Oscar nomination for her performance in Summit’s The Impossible.

Galifianakis next reprises his breakout role as Wolf Pack member Alan in The Hangover Part III, while Keaton recently wrapped a turn in MGM’s remake of Robocop.
