I was going through NBA withdrawal last night. I like both teams and wouldn't mind seeing either of them win. The Thunder have really impressed me these playoffs. They never seemed to be phased by anything while the Heat seem phased by every call they think they should have received. Two exciting teams should be fun.

I was just in Copenhagen on the day of the Denmark/Holland match. Holy crap, that was an intense day.

It was the last stop of my honeymoon. We actually stayed in Malmö and took the train back and forth to Copenhagen. We went to Tivoli Gardens that day, and they had a giant screen in the middle of the park showing the match. We were leaving just as it ended, and the crowd exploded when Denmark won.

^^ congrats polka!!

great game last night, Durant and Westbrook were incredible.

sometimes I feel the Heat dont have the heart to win, they have the talent, theres no question that Lebron and Wade are monster players but that seems not enough. weird that Spoelstra only used 6 players the whole game, and by the last 4-5min of the 4th they looked exhausted.

I hope OKC wins the title.

today nba tv airs a doc about the 1992 dream team, sounds good.

Isiah Thomas gets shredded in new Dream Team documentary

Last night I watched a preview copy of the NBA Dream Team documentary that airs on NBA TV Wednesday, highlighting the 20th anniversary of the original (and greatest) Dream Team and their run up to and through the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

Watch it. It is fantastic stuff. Great stories, a reminder of how huge this was and how it changed international basketball, and just a fun trip down memory lane.

But one thing that stuck out — everyone confirmed the long-time rumor that Pistons guard Isiah Thomas was blackballed from the team. It started with the Bulls Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, although Jordan hints there were people up the USA Basketball ladder that were more than happy to do that, and NBA exec Russ Granik basically confirmed that.

Jordan and Pippen pulled no punches.

“That was one of the stipulations put to me (on the team) that Isiah wasn’t part of the team,’’ Jordan said.

“Isiah was the general (of the Bad Boy Pistons),’’ Pippen said. “He was the guy who would yap at his teammates and say ‘Kick them on their ass. Do whatever you have to do.’ No, I didn’t want him on the Dream Team.’’

Granik pointed to an incident at the end of the Bulls/Pistons playoff series that year where Thomas led his teammates off the court before the final buzzer even sounded. That kind of sportsmanship and image was not what the NBA wanted to project to the world.

So Thomas was out in 1992. He would not be part of this documentary, either.

Seriously, watch the entire documentary. You’ll learn a lot more than this. But this part may be one of the most gripping.

It looked like the heat came up against a younger and more athletic version of themselves but with a much deeper bench. How the thunder looked compared to the heat in the 4th is usually how the heat look against other teams like the celtics.

I watched the Dream Team doc. Not as good as espn's 30 for 30 series but interesting. Barkley was hilarious as always and makes me wish TNT had the finals instead of listening to Wilbon fawn over Magic during the entire analysis.

Here is the trailer to an upcoming film starring Kevin Durant as himself, in which he inadvertently swaps basketball skills with a high-school kid when they get hit by lightning while touching a basketball together or something.  THIS IS A THING THAT EXISTS.

This never would have happened if the Sonics had stayed in Seattle.

I'm actually feeling positive vibes for the Pistons. This year will suck, but we have an up-and-coming great front court with Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond. Plus with yesterday's trade of sending Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye to Memphis, the Pistons can expect $40 million available this offseason for free agency.

Of course Detroit isn't an attractive place to go right now and ESPN's Darren Revell continually makes fun of the team by posting pictures of how empty the seats look, but the NBA is different than 5 years ago and salary cap is big. I expect players will play for teams who are more able to just give good contracts out. Plus I expect Pistons to be playing in a new arena downtown, too.

Also, positive vibes to Seattle. They deserve a team. Somehow, someway.

SOON.

I wish the all star break would get here and be over with already.  The Bulls have positioned themselves nicely in the East, Plus Jimmy Butler is emerging as a really good player for us.  I can't wait to see D Rose back on the court.
