it's both too big and too crazy for me to fit all my thoughts together now (right after seeing it), and later things like seeing it again and reading this/that will help grow my reception

if you're familiar with his previous works you can guess the size of his idea, and i don't mean he's crazy like he should be locked away (would i ever mean that?), i mean he's crazy like he abandons the usual path. and i like how wild and open his range is

the closing lines provide a little bowtie to the event, and clarify an overall meaning, which quality i'm personally beginning to appreciate less and less, because i think it transforms the art into self-help and i think more trust could be given to the audience. i think self-help comes from the self. but then, the message is to allow yourself to absorb life as you create your perspective on life (your dance), so look there, even when he disappoints me he does indeed trust me

saying, i appreciate how he sees the unconquerable madness of human life, its bundles of people and ideas, and he funnels his creative energy into this viewpoint. i think he's important, and this is yet another good movie for the year

'bout flipped my shit when i saw this in the store. this and a touch of sin are what i consider buyable movies.

dance of reality has a bold fusion between character and cinema. it's mad popping, it's like john waters made the great beauty except had lawrence anyways feelings while making it. ok, there are two movies i want to mention as helpful context. in dance there's a strong sense of character, place, time, and "energy tones." i just made up energy tones. they're all over the movie. there's a group of marginalized disabled homeless people, fascism, fashion (father owns a clothing store), politics, assassination, horses, and loss and rediscovery

i think jodorowsky earned street cred this year with jodorowsky's dune, which doc was fantastic through the experience of hearing jodorowsky speak, and i think you take all that energy all that passion and persistence and you funnel it into a movie you get the dance of reality and bam. that's the stuff

Really horrible film. The visual symbolism and imagery was both sloppy and boring.
