I don't know if there are any xixax whigs fans. They were a seminal band for me in high school. They just did a reunion tour and I checked them out at the pheonix in toronto. For a bunch of guys pushing 40 they pretty much kicked a ton of ass.

This video was my initial introduction to the them; up late one night watching conan. I'll never forget skipping school the next day and making my way to the local indie record shop to pick up the album. 20 years later, and first time ever seeing them live, their performance was not at all far from what you see.

I hope all y'all dig it:

the one last hit that spent you...

I never got too into Afghan Whigs, but I did have an old Sub Pop compilation album with the song "Retarded" on it, and I used to listen the hell out of that song.

They're playing ACL on Friday afternoon. You might be able to catch it on the live stream here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNZlxoohoHXnaVPVfmifNYQ
Some people have a fear of snakes. That was a somewhat rational fear. And you could do something about it at least. Stay away from long grass and nature documentaries. Easy. Others have a fear of heights. That was manageable too. Avoid tall ladders. But how do you cope when your fear is something you can’t avoid? That you have no hope of staying away from? Being afraid of the sky, where are you going to go?
