Andrea Arnold Lines Up U.S. Film
via The Playlist

Andrea Arnold’s fourth feature, and her first since 2011’s “Wuthering Heights,” will be a US-set drama called “Mag Crew.” The film is apparently inspired by "teenage magazine sales crews" and looks set to shoot in the US in 2014 after the script is completed later this year. It will be Arnold’s first film set outside of her native UK, and we imagine that means we can probably expect to see it sometime in 2015.

via Variety

Shia LaBeouf is attached to star in British filmmaker Andrea Arnold’s first U.S.-based feature, “American Honey.”

Protagonist Pictures will introduce the coming-of-age drama to buyers at next month’s Cannes Film Festival.

The story centers on a runaway teenager who’s selling magazine subscriptions around the U.S. and gets caught up in a whirlwind of hard-partying, law-bending and young love. Arnold also wrote the screenplay.

“American Honey” will be produced by Lars Knudsen and Jay Van Hoy (“Beginners,” “Love Is Strange”) of New York-based Parts & Labor. Also producing are Thomas Benski and Lucas Ochoa from Pulse Films, alongside Pouya Shahbazian of Man Down Pictures. Film4 developed the film with Arnold, and is backing the project  and is backing it along with BFI and Trudie Styler, Celine Rattray and Charlotte Ubben of Maven Pictures”. Arnold, who won the Oscar in 2003 for her short film “Wasp,” last directed a bigscreen adaptation of Emily Bronte’s “Wuthering Heights.” Her first two features, “Red Road” in 2006 and “Fish Tank” in 2009, both won BAFTAs, and both were awarded the jury prize at Cannes.

Andrea Arnold To Direct Episodes Of 'Transparent' Season 2
via The Playlist

Andrea Arnold ("Fish Tank," "Wuthering Heights") has directed two episodes from the upcoming season. She's joined behind the camera by Soloway herself, along with Marielle Heller (Sundance award winner "The Diary Of A Teenage Girl"), Stacie Passon (Berlin award winner "Concussion"), and Silas Howard.

For Arnold, the gig continues what seems to be a swing toward the mainstream or at least, more accessible films than her previous efforts. She's currently shooting "American Honey" starring Shia LaBeouf, and it's her first feature production in the United States.
